 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. DECOMPOSED BODIES OF TWO MISSING WOMEN FOUND BURIED IN OFFICE OF KWARA DOCTOR ARRESTED FOR MURDER OF HIS GIRLFRIEND AND CAB DRIVER  Decomposed bodies of two women have been found in a shallow grave in the office of a medical doctor, Abass Adio Adebowale Adeyemi, in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara state.  It would be recalled that the suspect, who hails from Offa LGA of Kwara State, was arrested for killing a cab driver, Emmanuel Yobo Agbovinuere. He allegedly killed the victim in Benin City, Edo state, dumped his corpse at Otofure community on the Benin-Lagos highway and absconded with the deceased's vehicle.  Spokesperson of the Kwara State Police Command, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, in a statement on Sunday, October 2, said the suspect also confessed to killing his girlfriend, one Ifeoluwa, who was declared missing in Tanke area of Ilorin in 2021. POLICE ARREST ‘ONE CHANCE’ GANG.  Officers of Ojodu Division of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested three members of a syndicate that specialize in duping unsuspecting passengers. They are: Abiodun Bamidele ‘m’ aged 48, Olumide Faleye 'm' aged 45 and Toyin Adekoya 'f' aged 49.  The suspects were arrested at about 1030hrs on Friday, September 23, 2022, at Omole Estate Phase 1 after their victim raised the alarm. The suspects while operating in a Toyota Camry car, with registration number KSF 608 GH, would disguise as driver and passengers, pick unsuspecting passengers, and start discussions about some dollars purportedly kept in the boot.  POLICE ARREST TWO FOR ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF FIREARM  Detectives of Badagry Division of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested one Sodiq Muftau ‘m’ aka Mainama aged 30 and Surakat Toheeb 'm' aka Elewedu aged 29 in Badagry on Friday, September 23, 2022 at about 18:30hrs. The suspects were arrested when policemen on routine patrol noticed their suspicious movement within Ajara Community. Other members of the gang took to their heels upon sighting with the police.  After a thorough search of the suspects, a locally made double-barrelled pistol,nine live cartridges, charms and weed suspected to be indian hemp were found in their possession.  Investigation revealed that the suspects are members of Eiye Confraternity in Badagry and environs.  Effort is in place to unravel more details about their activities and source of the firearm. 2nd Sunday October 2022. FEMALE CORPSE FOUND AND ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED. A woman's body was recovered near a drain in Gordon today. NCD Metropolitan Superintendent Gideon Ikumu said we (police) are very concerned because this is the second such killing involving women in a matter of days. He said police are also investigating the recovery of a woman's body at 9 mile cemetary last week. Missing INEC Staff Found Dead In Anambra A staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Duruocha Joel, has been found dead in Anambra State. INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, disclosed this in a statement on Friday. He said Duruocha’s body was dumped by unknown persons and found on Thursday along the Isu-Aniocha-Urum Road in Awka North Local Government Area. Anambra State Government Commences Intervention On Nkpor -Umuoji Road. Hope has smiled on commuters plying Nkpor-Umuoji road as Anambra state government commences intervention on the Inland Doors axis of Nkpor-Umuoji road. The intervention work is being handled by the Anambra State Road Maintenance Agency, ARMA, under the state ministry of Works. At the site, several trips of stone base have been tipped and leveled while desilting of drainage channels was on going as at the time of this report. More trips of stone base were also seen arriving the site. NAPTIP Rescues 16 year Old Human Trafficking Victim In Anambra Community.  The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP Anambra State Command has  rescued a 16 year old girl, suspected to be a victim of human trafficking in Mgbakwu in Awka North L.G.A of Anambra State. The agency conducted the joint oeration with Anambra State Ministry Of Women And Social Welfare  and Anambra Vigilante Group (AVG) Awka.  The victim identified as  Chioma Obi gave birth three days ago before her rescue in an uncompleted building at Mgbakwu, where she was harboured by a trafficking syndicate.   Preliminary investigation reveals that the syndicate was already hatching plans to sell the new born baby as they did the two other children of the victim.  The girl who said she hails from Enugwu-Ukwu appears to be mentally unstable and has over the years been used by the gang which operates from an uncompleted building at Mgbakwu to give birth to babies which the sell on delivery.   This is the Nteje family Who Died In Fatal accident.  They will be buried this week in Nteje, the headquarters of Oyi Local Government Area. The family of late Mr Okonkwo Emmanuel Esiobi of Irueri-Umuanuwa Amaokpo in Ezi Njete Oyi Local Government Area,Anambra state regret to announce the painful death of their sons,daughter and wife,Late Mr Chijioke Vincent Esiobi (35yrs),Late Mr Linus Chukwuebuka Esiobi (30yrs),Late. Mrs Ngozi Esiobi (27yrs) and Late Miss Chisimdi Esiobi (4yrs),who died on the 4th September 2020 after automobile crash along Engu-Onitsha Expressway. Friday 7th of October 2022 is for official burial for Chijioke and Ebuka while Tuesday 11th October 2022 is for burial ceremony of Late Ngozi and Chisimdi Esiobi,as tradition demands. May all their souls rest in peace, Amen.

TWO ELDERLY MEN BEATEN AND STRANGLED TO DEATH FOR WITCHCRAFT IN BENUE STATE The Advocacy for Alleged Witches condemns the gruesome murder of Kwaghange Ugbu and Atuur Shaaja of Gwer East LGA of Benue. The murder of Ugbu and Shaaja happened less than two months after some youths attacked an alleged witch in Shangev Tiev, Konshisha LGA. According to local sources, on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, David Terseer Nongobo, 25, a native of Mbaaku Mbasombo Gwer East LGA of Benue, slumped while working on the farm. He was later confirmed dead at a local hospital. David has recently completed his secondary school education.  In reaction to his death, some members of the community, notably, Aper Iorfa, Ter Tarnongo, Bamo Oraduen, Terhemen Agber, etc stormed the house of David's uncles, Kwaghange Ugbu and Atuur Shaaja. They accused them of killing David Terseer through witchcraft. They beat and cut him with cutlasses and axes. They tied a rope around their neck and dragged them until they died
