  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.   The stage is set for the Imo state government launch of the Shared Prosperity Government Education Support Scheme to both primary school pupils and secondary school students in the state. This scheme is the brainchild of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Students Affairs, Hon. Oparaji Franklyn who overtime has shown capacity and dedication to duty especially in reaching out to Imo students and of course the first of its kind from the bureau of Student’s Affairs. This time around Hon. Gbajabiamila, who visited the Abuja newspapers distribution centre at Area 1 in Abuja, said Ifeanyi, who died from a bullet fired by one of the security aides attached to the Speaker's convoy, would get justice.   The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has restated the commitment of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) towards ensuring the safety and security all law-abiding citizens. The CAS gave this assurance yesterday, 20 November 2020, at NAF Base Yola, while commissioning 10 refurbished trucks which were auctioned to the NAF by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS). Speaking further during the ceremony, the CAS, who was represented by the Chief of Logistics, Headquarters NAF, Air Vice Marshal Mohammed Yakubu, stated that the vehicles would go a long way in complementing NAF's logistics vehicle holding thereby boosting the operational efficiency of the Service. He noted that the vehicles would further facilitate the distribution of logistics supplies to Units and operational areas in support of NAF's counter insurgency operations and other internal security efforts.
