EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

LAGOS STATE GOVT,PROMOTES THE KAI OPERATIVES THAT WERE WOUNDED LAST WEEK BY HOODLUMS IN ILE-EPO MARKET.

                                  The Commissioner for Environment,Dr. Babatunde Adejare,on behaalf of the Lagos State Government,has promoted the KAI operatives that sustained injuries during the enforcement exercise at IIe-Epo Market in Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area of the state last week.Dr Adejare and his team,who visited the KAI Brigade Headquarters in Alausa,Ikeja on friday to check on the wounded operatives,announced the immediate elevation of three injured officers,namely Mr Okoh Chukwueku Innocent,Mr Akinnitire Abayomi Samuel and Mr Akinsany Bolaji Sewanu.The Commissioner also seized the opportunity to pledge the unflinching support of the state government to KAI operations in its effort to promote and sustain a clean,healthy and safe environment.He however urged the officials to show more commitment and rededicate themselves to effective service delivery,adding that the on-going re-branding efforts of the Agency must usher in a KAI Brigade imbued with dignity.

4 FRENCH NATIONALS WERE KILLED YESTERDAY IN IVORY COAST,DURING AN ATTACK.

                                According to the French President who said today monday that four French nationals were killed during an attack claimed by al-Qaeda's North African branch on aa resort town in souththern Ivory Coast.Ivorian authorities said  1 8 people died in attack on Sunday including three gunmen. Francois Hollande said in statement that ''Four French victims have now been reported''.and he vowed to intensify cooperation in West Africa to fight Islamist militants.One more photo below                               

IGP,DEPLOYS 3 COMMISSIONERS OF POLICE TODAY,TO SUPERVISE THE RE-RUN ELECTION IN RIVERS STATE.

EFCC RECENTLY ARRAIGNS FIRS DIRECTOR FOR N5 MILLION BRIBE.

                                     The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC on thursday,March  1 0,20 1 6 arraigned Abumere Joseph Osagie,a Deputy Director,Regional Tax Office of the Federal Inland Revenues Services,FIRS and one Jamila Ojora on a 2 count charge bordering on criminal conspiracy and receipt of gratification before Justice O.O Goodluck of the Federal Capital Territory High Court Maitama Abuja.Osagie and Ojora had on January 27,20 1 6 allegedly approached Senaor Datti,the Chancellor of Baze university,Abuja and gave him a tax assessment of N20,029, 496.00 through a letter of intent,which he paid.When Senator Datti requested for the assessment certificate,they refused to oblige him.Instead,they allegedly demanded for N5 million gratification.Consequently,marked N5million was delivered to the director through Ojora in a sting operation,an operation which led to her arrest.Consequently her confession led to the arrest of Osagie.The offence contravenes Section  1 7
