Nigerian Police Arrest 26 Cult Members Terrorising Enugu, Recover Five Guns, Other Firearms. The Enugu Command of the Nigeria Police Force, on Wednesday, said it has arrested 26 suspects for various offences ranging from conspiracy, unlawful possession of firearms, ammunition and cultism. A statement by the command's spokesman, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, said that the suspects were arrested between May 28 and May 29, 2022 during a routine stop and search operation within the state capital.

Tobacco Use Keep Increasing In Africa Despite Bans -WHO World Health Organization, WHO estimates that one in every 10 African adolescent uses tobacco even though 24 African countries have instituted bans on smoking in public places, and 35 banned tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship.  In a message to commemorate the World No Tobacco Day 2022, WHO Regional Director for Africa, Dr Matshidiso Moeti, said the emergence of new products, such as electronic nicotine and tobacco products, are making them attractive to youths, thereby, compounding the concerns. Man arrested over importation of fake ani-malaria drugs A businessman named Obinna Igbo has been arrested by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for alleged importation and sale of fake Amanta Forte, an unregistered anti-malarial drug. The 32-year-old businessman has been arraigned before a Federal High Court on four counts of unlawful importation, possession, sale, and distribution of fake Amanta Forte soft gel (Artemether 80mg + Lumefantrine 480mg Capsules) drug at Head Bridge Market Onitsha, Anambra State. A statement signed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, said the construction will be in two phases, running for a duration of 16 months, while the traffic diversion plans were designed to encompass each phase of the construction period. Explaining the diversion plan, Oladeinde advised residents on Opebi to use Opebi Link Road to access Tunde Osilaja Street and, subsequently, connect Salvation inbound Ajanaku Street to link Opebi Road, through Thomas Ajufo, onto their desired destinations.
