 Noise pollution: Lagos seals five churches, 19 hotels The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has temporarily shut down no fewer than five churches and 19 hotels over noise pollution between March 23 and April 26  Calculations by our correspondent also showed that no fewer than four markets and shopping complexes were also shut down over noise pollution and other environmental infractions. The churches that have been temporarily sealed include St Monica’s Hall of Our Lady of Lord’s Catholic Church, Christ Rock of Fire Ministry, Wonderful Bible Prayer Ministries, God’s Porch Ministries, and an unnamed Catholic Church Some of the hotels affected are School2bar, Blue Seasons Hotel and Suites, Sulerious Lakeside Hotel, Monero Hotel and Suites, and Lekki Hotel and Suites.        A lecturer at the College of Health in Rivers state, Mr Jonathan, has been accused of beating his wife, Ole, to death, just two weeks after she welcomed their child. In a post shared on Facebook, an aunt of the deceased, Nkesi Wogu, alleged that Mr Jonathan, is currently on the run after beating Ole to death in the presence of her mother. ''My niece with a two weeks old baby was beaten to death by her husband the man is oh the run his from etche and also a witness.        The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office, on January 21, 2019 arraigned one Pastor Isaac Arabambi along with his company, Heroes Investment Company Limited before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, on a four-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence. Arabambi is also standing trial on another 11-count charge bordering on unauthorized operation of a f inancial institution and obtaining the sum of N62, 326,250.60 (Sixty Two Million, Three Hundred and Twenty Six Thousand Two Hundred and Fifty Naira Sixty Kobo) only by false pretence, and was earlier arraigned on January 15, 2019 before the same judge.       Troops of the 27 Task Force Brigade and Nigerian Army Special Forces School, Buni Yadi, Gujba Local Government of Yobe State, successfully defeated Boko Haram terrorists that launched an attack on the military base. The terrorists came to engage the Brigade around 4:15pm on Sunday 20th January, 2018, daring the troops for almost two and a half hours. The gallant troops stood their ground and thoroughly dealt with them. Two Gun trucks of the terrorists were collected from them and some of them were neutralised on the process while several others were seen taking to their heels with gunshot injuries. Cache of Anti Aircraft ammunitions and bombs of Rocket Propelled Gun were also recovered. The troops were in high spirit as they all started jubilating with high morale. News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports Ezebuilo said he made the donation in appreciation of the sterling performance of Buhari since he assumed office. The paramount ruler of Amanuke kingdom, Awka north, Anambra state, said the re-election of President Buhari would consolidate his achievements.      The Ladies of 'Your View' a live TV program on TVC, stormed the hospital where the Host of the TV Show Morayo Afolabi Brown just gave birth to a bouncing baby boy.Luckily when they arrived the hospital yesterday,she was being discharged. At least this news will over shadow what she went through last year.      A student identified as Peter Okafor, ND course representative,Civil Engineering Federal Polytechnic Oko has been shot dead by unknown suspected to be cultists in Anambra. The deceased who is from Nkpor was said to have been chased into the bush by gunmen who shot him dead in Umusiome. Before his demise,he asked his friend to get his clearance form for him. He was meant to be in school for the collection before his death.May his soul rest in peace,Amen.One more photo below.

LAGOS CHIEF JUDGE SWORE IN NEWLY APPOINTED PRESIDENT & MEMBERS OF THE CUSTOMARY COURT YESTERDAY.{PHOTOS}.

       Lagos State Chief Judge, Justice Opeyemi Oke yesterday swore in the newly appointed President and Members of the Customary Court in line with the State government's resolve to improve service delivery in the judiciary system. Justice Oke admonished the new appointees to let the fear of God be in their hearts as they rule on cases in consonance with the rule of law. She urged them to enshrine justice in their courts according to t he native law and custom of the people. According to her, "As customary court judges and members, you must act with a high level of decorum and within the dictates of your conscience. The fundamental rights, freedoms and principles underpinning our Constitutional Democracy must guide you".
