                                                                        Today thursday it was reported that,a 42 year old man identified as Solomon Odo,who allegedly raped his co-tenant's 9 year old child was charged before an Ikeja Chief Magistrate court today.Mr Solomon Odo who is a resident of 62 Alhaji Abasi street,Ogudu Lagos is facing a two count charge of child defilement and rape.He committed the offence on August 9 2015 around 7:00pm at his residence.The prosecutor Simeon Imhonwa alleged that Odo Solomon Odo defiled the girl by luring her to run an errand for him.''Odo invited the minor into his room,locked the door and pounced on her.After touching her indecently,he had sexual intercourse with her,leaving her severely bruised''The accused was arrested after the minors mother had reported the case to the police.Odo however denied all charges.The Magistrate,Mrs Bola Osunsanmi,granted the accused bail in the sum of N1million with two responsible sureties in l

                 Today thursday,a radio broadcaster 46 year old Cosme Maestrado was shot dead by an unidentified gunman in the southern Philippines.The victim is the third media professional to be killed in the past two weeks.He was shot dead by a lone gunman near a shopping centre in a busy street in Ozamiz city,about 780 kilometres south of Manila.The victim was a hard hitting radio commentator in Ozamiz,criticizing corruption and other abuses of government officials in the area.Maestrado survived a previous attack in November 2011.Investigators are still determining the motive behind the attack.Last week two media professionals from the eastern province of Sorsogon and the southern province of Davao were killed by unidentified gunmen.Maestrado was the sixth journalist killed in the country this year,and the 30th since President Benigno Aquino took office in 2010,according to the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines.Presidential Communications Secretary,Herminio Coloma,ur
