 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

      The Leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) Bokkos Chapter, the Military taskforce code named Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), Bokkos Command and the Management of Plateau State University have agree on zero tolerance for day and night cattle grazing on the premises of the University. Mr John Agam, Public Relations Officer of the University, announced the deal in a statement on Thursday. “This agreement was reached during a meeting at the University following the incessant trespass and breach of peace in the institution due to the activities of herdsmen who break through the University fence to graze their cattle both during the day and night”, it noted.       The Lagos State Government has opened the upgraded Alfred Rewane Beautified Garden, Ikoyi for use by members of the public within and around the Ikoyi axis. Speaking at the formal unveiling of the site  on Thursday , the Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment, Mr. Babatunde Hunpe described the event as a manifestation of an idea conceived to further consolidate the Smart City Agenda of the State Government. He noted that the beautification project was a vivid testimony to the State Government’s concern for the environment in line with its determination to show unwavering commitment to solve major environmental challenges in the State. LASCOPA URGES AGGRIEVED CONSUMERS TO FOLLOW PROCEDURE.{PHOTO}.

     Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency, LASCOPA, has underscored the need for dissatisfied consumers to always exhaust the Customer Complain Procedure, CCP, put in place by manufacturers before approaching the Agency for mediation and further assistance. The General Manager of the Agency, Mrs. Kemi Olugbode made this known on Thursday during a meeting with manufacturers of consumable products in Lagos to address some key issues affecting consumers and the manufacturers. She said that upon exhausting the CCP of a company and the company remains recalcitrant or the consumer still feels dissatisfied, the affected person has the right to approach LASCOPA to take up the issue, stressing that the option of approaching the agency should be the last resort. According to her, the agency is aware of the fact that as much as consumers have rights to get maximum satisfaction from goods and services they paid for, the manufacturers also have their own rights which are often guided

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai on Thursday, 19th July 2018 paid an operational visit to 21 Brigade in Bama Borno State where he designated the Brigade as Special Operations Brigade. 2. Idris, NPM, mni, on behalf of the Police Management Team and the entire Officers and Men of the Force with a heavy heart regret to announce the demise of IGP (RTD) Alh. Ibrahim Ahmadu Commassie, GCON, NPM, mni, Sardaunan Katsina, Garkuwan Hausa who died at the age of Seventy Six (76), this evening at the National Orthopedic Hospital, Katsina after a brief illness. 2. The late IGP was born on 18th March, 1942 in Katsina, katsina State. He enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as Cadet Inspector on the 11th May, 1964 and was trained at the Police College Ikeja. He was appointed the 9th Indigenous Inspector General of Police on 26 August, 1993 to 1999. 3.
