                      The Economic and Financial Crimes Commision today June 16,2017 arraigned a former United Bank for Africa {UBA} branch Manager,Florence Onome Odior and four others namely; Orion Sunday,{her husband},Patricia Jegede a.k.a Joe Nek Services,Joseph Alexander Esiso,Zackary Petroleum Nigeria Limited and Tegha and Associates Nigeria Limited before Justice Ohimai Ovbiagele of the federal high court sitting in Benin,Edo State.They were arraigned on a 19 count charge bothering on stealing,Forgery,obtaining under false pretence,uttering and conspiracy to defraud contrary to section 467 {2}{d} of the criminal code laws of Edo State of Nigeria 2006.The former bank manager while a branch manager in 2012 defrauded one Moses Obozokhae to the tune fifty million eight hundred and forth thousand naira only using a forged and uttered document titled: United Bank for Africa Certificate of deposit with reference No TDO9990001445 dated 2nd August 2012.After listening to all the counsels

               The Lagos State Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy today directed the State Controller of Prisons,Mr Olatunbosun Ladipo to immediately release 18 inmates serving life sentences at the Kirikiri Maximum Prison.The 18 inmates comprising 15 males and 3 females serving life sentences for various offences have spent more than 30 years incarceration and were therefore recommended for release by the Council on compassionate grounds.During the formal handover of the release order to the State Controller of Prisons,Mrs Bolatunmi Animashaun-representative of Professor.Oyelowo Oyewo,Chairman of the Advisory Council-applauded the Lagos State government for assenting to the recommendations of the Council to release the inmates.She advised the pardoned inmates to turn a new leaf when eventually reunited with their families and further warned them to steer clear of every temptation that could make them repeat offemders and jeopardise this once in a lifetime opportunity.Also speaki

                A 20 year old lady identified as Chinasa Onwuasoanya,has been taken into custody by the Special Armed Robbery Squad,SARS,in Anambra State for alleged child-trafficking.Onwuasoanya,reportedly started the illicit business when she sold her unwanted baby girl to one Goodness,a 45 year old woman,for N150,000.After which she moved into full-time child-trafficking.Recounting her journey into child-trafficking,Onwuasoanya told the Sun,''I got into child trafficking two years ago.I have sold 20 male and female children to Madam Goodness who operates the orphanage.She paid me between N150,000 and N200,000 for each baby I sold to her.''I got to know her hen I became pregnant and gave birth to a girl on October 4,2013.After I delivered the baby,a friend introduced me to Madam Goodness.I took my daughter to her and she gave me N150,000.00,to take care of myself.After that time,I decided to go into child trafficking by kidnapping children coming back from school or g
