 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. $2.1BN ONSA FRAUD: DASUKI FACES FRESH CHARGES.

       The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has filed fresh charges against Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd), former National Security Adviser, who is alleged of criminal diversion of funds to the tune of $2.1billion. The money was part of funds earmarked by the Federal Government to fight Boko Haram insurgency in the northeast. According to Rotimi Jacobs, SAN, counsel to the EFCC, the charge was amended to remove the second defen dant and also to bring up fresh charges against the other defendants. EFCC ARRESTS REAL ESTATE AGENT FOR IMPERSONATING MAGU.{PHOTO}.

       Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested one Felix Idowu, a real estate agent and a graduate of political science, for impersonating Ibrahim Magu, the anti-graft agency’s Acting Chairman.   Idowu had in the assumed capacity swindled unsuspecting victims of their hard earned income.  The suspect upon arrest was found with documents which had the signature of the EFCC boss forged. Prior  to his arrest, the EFCC received intelligence report that the suspect while posing as operative of the EFCC requested for money in order ‘to kill’ a petition purportedly written against the complainant.The EFCC swung into action by asking the complainant to play along while setting booby-trap for the suspect. In the process, Idowu was asked to liaise with the complainant’s personal assistant, who was an EFCC operative undercover.         A Nigerian police officer Julius Adedeji has been honoured by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) for not taking bribe. Data from the Nigeria Bureau of Statistics, from a 2017 survey, reveals that personnel of the Nigeria police are among the most corrupt public officers in the country. Adedeji is said to have never taken a bribe, not because he has never been offered such but because it is “needless” for him.For that rare feat, the BBC is celebrating him as Nigeria’s ‘most dedicated police officer’.Adedeji told the BBC in an interview that he was surprised to be nominated for the award because he did not know he was being watched.“I thank God that it’s recognised and I feel like putting my best more and more.          The wife of Taraba Governor, Barr. Mrs. Anna Darius Ishaku has urged women in the State to vote rightly in next year’s general elections to choose leaders that will truly represent their interests. She stated this during a prayer session organized by women wing of Christian Association of Nigeria at the CAN secretariat in Jalingo. The Governor’s wife who expressed worry over the ugly happenings in the country called on women to use their PVCs rightly for the good of the State and the country. Anna Ishaku explained that she was deeply worried over incessant killings, kidnappings and other high level crimes in the country, describing the situation as unfortunate.          The Federal Government is shocked and outraged by the suicide bomb attacks on a Mosque and a Market in Mubi, Adamawa State, today, May 1, 2018. This desecration of a place of worship by criminals is tragic and condemnable. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, expresses condolences to the victims and their families, and to the Government and people of Adamawa State.
