EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

       Rivers State Government has commissioned the magnificent New Doctors Quarters constructed by the administration of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike at the Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital. The construction of the New Doctors Quarters was flagged off by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on 13th February, 2017 in fulfilment of the pledge that Governor Wike made to doctors at the Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital. Commissioning the Doctors Quarters on Tuesday, Former Rivers State Governor, Dr Peter Odili described Governor Wike as a super action governor who continues to rapidly develop the state.           Justice A. R. Mohammed of the Federal High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja, has adjourned the trial of a former governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru also known as Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and one other, charged with N2.9billion fraud to October 4, 2018. The adjournment was sequel to an application by Fintiri’s counsel, Mahmud Abubakar Magaji, SAN, seeking the release of the international passport of the first defendant to enable him to travel to Germany for follow-up on his medical treatment. Fintiri, a former lawmaker, who also served briefly as the Acting Governor of Adamawa State, is being prosecuted on a 5-count charge of bribery and money laundering alongside Mayim Construction and Properties Limited, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.        The Nigerian Senate on Wednesday asked the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali to withdraw his statement which said, killings in Nigeria was as a result of anti-grazing laws by Benue and Taraba states. The development followed a point of order by Senator Barnabas Gemade (Benue North East), who faulted the Defence Minister and explained that killings in the country predated anti-grazing laws by those states. Gemade said about 7 persons were again killed in Kwande local government in Benue North East senatorial district, stating that the state was under siege as killings occur daily.        Nigerians have been warned against voting leaders who have more values for cows than human beings. Bishop David Abioye of the Living Faith Church (Winners’ Chapel) gave the warning during a sermon, where he also listed ways the country is rapidly being islamised. He told his congregation that as the 2019 general elections approach, they should avoid voting individuals who value cow more than human life. Abioye, in a fiery sermon, urged his congregants to be vigilant, adding that, “they are penetrating everywhere’. He said, “The police examination to become a recruit, they have put Arabic there, in case you don’t know. They are infiltrating everywhere. But the power of Jesus, the power of Jesus, is going to stop all their moves. “Those who’ll say, ‘well I’m from the East, it doesn’t concern me.’ Go to the East today, the core east; go to the Niger Delta, they are penetrating everywhere, everywhere, and therefore, we’ll not fold our hands and close our eyes.
