The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.        The Economic And Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Port Harcourt's Zonal Office has commenced investigations into the activities of twenty nine (29) suspected oil thieves alleged to be involved in illegal oil bunkering. The suspects: Dickson Friday, Ibe Emeka, Saviour Friday, Akuro Clinton, Abraham Azuwa, Stephen Daniel, Sunday Abedingo, Samuel Smubai, Anazodo Emmanuel Ejike, Daminabo Apiah, Benneth Sobere, Emmanuel Gala, Ephraim Utono, Michael Jeremiah, Ib itimmy Azan, Rufus Animi, Atubi Precious. Others are Ojuboworima Ebenezer, Bobo Banigo, Habibu Mohammed, Yobo Okwata, Tammy Ibibo, John Tamumodiepiriye, Jack Joel, Ubiakamre Lucky, Nisidibe Adolfus, Victor Francis, Omotola Timothy and Okojie Charles Ehis.      President Muhammadu Buhari has written the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Tanko Muhammad, on the appointment of additional five Justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.        Lagos State Government has warned those in the habit of picking and dropping passengers at undesignated bus stops, especially on the highways, to desist or face the full wrath of the law. The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transportation, Dr. Taiwo Salaam, who handed down the warning, stated that the practice would not be condoned as it is disrupting free flow of traffic on the roads. He further stated that the directive is in line with Section 49 of the Lagos State Traffic Law which stipulates that it is an offence for commercial buses to pick or drop passengers on the fast lane, walkways or at undesignated bus stops. Salaam said that drivers of commercial vehicles are to utilise the relevant road infrastructures provided by the government for the drop off and pick up of passengers such as the lay-by and slip roads at various bus shelters/terminals across the metropolis.
