But what he didn't make clear is that this only applies to Northern Nigerian states... LET'S BREAK IT DOWN PROPERLY  AduItery is a crime liable to two years imprisonment; Penal Code Law, section 387 & 388 - Police The Penal Code is applicable only in the States of Northern Nigeria, while the States of Southern Nigeria are governed by the Criminal Code.  Under the Criminal Code, which is applicable in the Southern States of Nigeria, Adultery is not a crime.  The reason for the dichotomy is because the Penal Code of the Northern Nigeria has contents which conforms to their Islamic Sharia Law or faith.
