 NO ABANDONMENT, NO NEW AWARDS: FG SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON MOROCCO SCHOLARSHIPS The Federal Government has firmly debunked misleading narratives circulating in some quarters regarding Nigerian scholarship students in the Kingdom of Morocco, describing such claims as false, unfounded, and deliberately crafted to misinform the public. The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, has clarified that no Nigerian student on a valid Federal Government scholarship has been abandoned. All beneficiaries duly enrolled under the Bilateral Education Scholarship (BES) Programme prior to 2024 have received payments up to the 2024 budget year, in line with the Federal Government’s obligations. Any temporary delays in outstanding payments are attributable to fiscal constraints and are currently being addressed through ongoing engagements between the Federal Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance.      The first ever edition of Mr and Miss Albinism East Africa brought together 30 contestants recently from Kenya,Uganda and Tanzania in Kenya's capital,Nairobi to crown young people with albinism.It was organized by the Albinism Society of Kenya with partners in Uganda and Tanzania,the contest aims to demysstify the condition of people living with albinism and affirm their inherent dignity while challenging myths,misconceptions and negative beliefs around the the disorder.More photos below.

GOV. WIKE DESCRIBES THE PASSAGE OF FORMER PRESIDENT SHEHU SHAGARI AS A SAD LOSS TO THE COUNTRY.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

      Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has described the passage of the First Democratically Elected President of Nigeria, Alhaji Shehu Shagari as a sad loss to the entire country. In a condolence message on Friday Night, Governor Wike commiserated with the government and people of Sokoto State over the death of the eminent statesman. Governor Wike stated that the Former President died at a time the entire nation would have benefited from his guidance during an important election circle. He said that Late Former President Shehu Shagari would be remembered for his patriotic contributions to the development of the country. While praying for the repose of the soul of Late Former President Shehu Shagari, Governor Wike also prayed God to grant the immediate family the strength to bear this great loss.        Our attention has been drawn to a news story with the headline “EXCLUSIVE: ‘About 700 Soldiers Missing, More Than 2,000 Trapped’ As Boko Haram Takes Over Baga” on Sahara Reporters website alleging that such number of soldiers were trapped and the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) could not do anything to extricate them. This is not only untrue but a deliberate mischief on the part of the  medium to create erroneous impression about the military and the concerted effort of the ongoing clearing and mop up operations in the general area. Therefore, no one could give accurate details of the encounter yet, as the troops have been reinforced and are busy with pursuit and mopping up operations against the terrorists.
