 I Will Leave Office A Free Man, Without Fear Of EFCC —Hope Uzodinma Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has boasted that he will leave office as a free man, unafraid of being pursued by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, or any other organization.   Speaking after the Feast of Christ the King Mass at the Government House Chapel in Owerri, Uzodimma challenged anyone with evidence of wrongdoing to present it.   “I will leave office a free man, sleep with my two eyes closed without being afraid of anybody, including the EFCC”, he said.   The governor maintained that he has not broken any promises made to the people of Imo.   He expressed assurance in the legacy of prosperity, infrastructure, and dignity that his administration is establishing for the state.   This statement follows the EFCC’s arrest of former Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa over allegations of misappropriating funds totaling N1.3 trillion.

 DHL Cargo Plane Crashes Near Vilnius Airport, One Dead


A DHL cargo plane traveling from Germany to Lithuania crashed early on Monday, November 25, 2024, near Vilnius International Airport, resulting in the death of one crew member. According to firefighters, the plane was just a few kilometers from the airport when it went down. 


The crash caused a nearby house to catch fire, though all residents were safely evacuated. Vilmantas Vitkauskas, head of Lithuania’s National Crisis Management Centre, reported that the fire's cause remains unclear. The plane was confirmed to belong to DHL, as stated by company official Ausra Rutkauskien. The incident is under investigation.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
