Recall that a socio-political critic, Martins Ortse aka VeryDarkMan, had ealier criticized Wike, over the demolition of Ruga community. Wike has however reacted to the critiques saying that the action was aimed at sanitizing and securing the FCT.

 Ondo: Over 1.7m voters choose new gov today Today, 1,757,205 registered voters in Ondo State will head to polling stations across its 18 local government areas to elect a new governor who will steer the affairs of the state for the next four years. This marks an increase in the number of registered voters compared to the 2020 election, which had 1,647,973 registered voters, of which only 580,887 votes were recorded.  The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has expressed its readiness for the exercise, deploying 4,002 Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) devices across 3,933 polling units, with 812 units on standby in case of technical hitches.  Northern Governors Rally Lawmakers Against Tax Reform Bills Northern states governors have asked members of the National Assembly (NASS) from the region to unite against the Tax Reform Bills sent to the federal legislature for passage by President Bola Tinubu. The governors said they have not shifted their earlier position on the matter because the proposed law would have dire economic consequences on the region.  Man in Police Net For Stabbing Brother's Wife By Chidinma Ikeanyionwu  One Nnamdi Nnebe from Umuokpu Awka is currently in police custody for stabbing his elder brother's wife. In what started as a minor misunderstanding, Mrs Njideka Nnebe, the survivor of the knife attack stated that the culprit who parked his keke in their compound saw kids playing inside his tricycle but mistook one of the kids as her son. The survivor explained that after a minor exchange of words, the assailant went inside his apartment and brought a knife but because she defended with her hand, she got stabbed on her hand instead.  Reacting to the incident at the hospital during her visit to the survivor, the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Anambra State, Mrs Ify Obinabo assured that the ministry will follow-up on the case as the state government is now in-charge to give justice to the survivor. Justice Kudirat Motonmori Olatokunbo Kekere-Ekun, GCON, at its 107th Meeting of 13 and 14 November 2024, sanctioned 5 serving Judicial Officers for various acts of misconduct.
