Okpebholo’s directive was contained in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua in Benin City. He commended the team for their achievements so far, charging them to beat the South Africans to enable them to lead Group B into the semifinals. “Go ahead to also win the cup and bring it to your fatherland. Sports will surely be given the top priority it deserves in my Government,” he said. “I think the girls might be worried about the change of leadership in the Edo State, but I want them to know that we are with them.  Pogba’s Juve Contract Terminated Despite Doping Ban Reduction Paul Pogba’s Juventus career is over after the Serie A club announced on Friday that the France midfielder’s contract had been terminated even though his doping ban was cut to 18 months on appeal. Pogba will be able to return to competitive football in March after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) chopped last month an initial four-year suspension handed down by the Italian anti-doping authority NADO. But Juventus have decided to cut ties with the 31-year-old, whose return to Turin from Manchester United in 2022 was ruined by a string of problems on and off the pitch. In a statement, Juve said that they and Pogba “have reached a mutual agreement for the termination of their contract as of 30 November, 2024”. His contract had been due to expire in 2026.

 Popular music composer, Jude ‘Ancestor’ Nnam kidnapped in Anambra Famous Christian music composer, Jude Nnam, has been kidnapped. Nnam, also known as ‘Ancestor,’ is the National Music Director for the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and a member of the National Liturgical Commission, Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN). He was allegedly kidnapped on Thursday evening around 6 p.m. in Umunnachi, Anambra State. The music icon is said to have traveled to Anambra for a church function.  Man Found Dead In Tanning Bed At Planet Fitness 3 Days After Entering Gym The body of an Indiana man was found inside a tanning bed at a Planet Fitness in Southside Indianapolis on Monday - three days after he's believed to have checked into the gym, authorities said. The victim, identified as 39-year-old Derek Sink, was reported missing on Sunday, The Indianapolis Star reported, citing police records. Sink was on house arrest for a drug-related offense and didn't come home Friday night, his grandmother and brother, who didn't want to be identified, told local television station WISH.  Lagos police reject N174m bribe offer from notorious internet fraudster Operatives of the Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan, Lagos, have refused a bribe of ₦174 million offered by a 28-year-old suspected internet fraudster, Patrick Akpoguma. The suspect is accused of engaging in various forms of cyber fraud, including romance scams, identity theft, hacking, cryptocurrency fraud, ritualism, and cultism. Akpoguma, speaking with journalists at Zone 2 Command, confessed to the crimes, explaining that his attempt to clear his name led him to offer bribes to the police. He proposed a payment of $100,000 USD (approximately ₦174 million) to secure his release. The wrongful death lawsuit, which is seeking $100 million in damages, is being brought by Ilyasah Shabazz, Malcolm’s daughter, and other family members. It names the US government, Justice Department, FBI, CIA and the NYPD, saying the agencies knew in advance of the plot to kill Malcolm, but did nothing to stop it, and later worked to cover-up their involvement.  POLICE ARREST THREE FOR STEALING PHONES OF ACCIDENT VICTIMS   Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) yesterday night arrested three suspected thieves for stealing two phones from accident victims on Governor’s Road, Alausa, Ikeja. The suspects: Isaiah Adegbenro (38), Edet Johnson (30) and Efe Sowemimo (28) were arrested few meters aways from the accident point while trying to escape with the phones. The accident victims were heading towards Ikeja in a red Toyota Camry 2010 when the driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a road divider in front of Adeyemi Bero end of Governor Road, Alausa, Ikeja. The three suspects who were close to the scene when the accident happened, rather than assist the driver and the occupants out of the badly damaged vehicle, were ransacking the victims’ pockets and vehicle.
