 Grave Robbers Arrested in Maroua for Human Bone Trafficking Three men, aged between 25 and 30, were recently arrested in the Mvan area of Yaoundé with a full human skeleton. They had traveled from Maroua and were caught by the police after an investigation.  This led the authorities to Pouss village, in the Maga district of the Far North region, where they found about 30 graves that had been disturbed and emptied. The skeleton the suspects were caught with is said to be worth 6 million francs and was intended for a foreign buyer.  According to law enforcement, these bones are used to make a drug known as "pebble," which sells for 75,000 francs per gram. The three men will soon appear before the public prosecutor. More photos below.

Ekoh is being investigated by the Enugu Zonal Directorate of the EFCC in an alleged N700 million Ponzi scheme fraud involving about fifty (50) victims. HALLOWEEN: 12-YEAR-OLD BOY LOST HIS LIFE TRYING TO SCARE PEOPLE ON A MOVING HAYRIDE. (PHOTO).

 A 12-year-old Tennessee boy loses his life during a hayride when a prank goes wrong. This sad incident unfolded at 10:45 p.m. in Harrison, Tennessee on October 11th. The Hamilton County, Tennessee Sheriff's Department were called to the 8200 block of Highway 58 at that time.  Once on scene, the first responders were informed of events which lead up to a 12-year-old, Samuel Jesson, being discovered unresponsive in the roadway. According to the children's chaperone for the evening at the Haunted Hilltop Hayride, the group of children he had been in charge of had hid in bushes along the hayride route. As the hayride passed, the children jumped out of their hiding spot in an attempt to scare the people on the hayride. Samuel had attempted to jump onto the trailer but he tragically slipped and fell under the tires. He was subsequently ran over and was unresponsive after the accident.  Ogun Contest's NFIU’s Financial Guidelines, Not Joining States to Challenge Constitutionality of EFCC in Supreme Court—Govt The Ogun State Government, on Tuesday, dismissed several reports in the media indicating that the state had joined some states of the federation in a case at the Supreme Court challenging the constitutionality of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).  It added that the issue it is contending in court relates to the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU)’s Financial Guidelines, which it said unfairly limits the operations of states and local governments in the country.  Beninese anti-French activist Kémi Séba arrested in Paris Beninese activist Kémi Séba has been arrested by French police in Paris, according to TRT Afrika. Séba was arrested at a restaurant where he was having lunch with one of his colleagues. He is among critical voices denouncing France's outsized influence in French-speaking West African countries. It was not immediately why he travelled to France. There have also been no official comments on his arrest. Presidential advisor Séba was recently appointed advisor to Niger's leader, General Abdourahamane Tiani, who seized power in a July 2023 military coup that toppled President Mohamed Bazoum. Niger has since severed diplomatic ties with Western countries and ordered the withdrawal of French, American, and German troops from the country.  Nigeria battles Inflation spike as rates hit 32.70% in September Nigeria's inflation rate has risen to 32.70% for the month of September, according to a report released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday. The NBS reported that the headline inflation rate for September 2024 was 32.70%, compared to 32.15% recorded in August 2024. "Looking at the movement, the September 2024 headline inflation rate showed an increase of 0.55% compared to the August 2024 headline inflation rate," the Bureau noted. "On a year-on-year basis, the headline inflation rate was 5.98 percentage points higher than the rate recorded in September 2023 (26.72%). "This shows that the headline inflation rate (year-on-year basis) increased in September 2024 when compared to the same month in the preceding year (i.e., September 2023)," the NBS stated.  India has been ranked 105th out of 127 countries in the 2024 Global Hunger Index (GHI), placing it in the “serious” category for hunger. The report, published by Concern Worldwide and Welthungerhilfe, tracks hunger and undernutrition across the globe. India scored 27.3 on the index, highlighting major challenges related to hunger, malnutrition, and child mortality in the country. The GHI score is based on four key indicators: undernourishment, child stunting, child wasting, and child mortality. In India, 13.7% of the population does not get enough calories, while 35.5% of children under five suffer from stunted growth due to chronic malnutrition. Additionally, 18.7% of children under five have low weight for their height, a sign of acute malnutrition. Furthermore, 2.9% of children in India die before the age of five.  The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has accused the Indian government of collaborating with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang to target pro-Khalistani elements in Canada. During a press conference, RCMP Assistant Commissioner Brigitte Gauvin stated that India was using organized crime elements to spread terror, specifically targeting the South Asian community. She claimed the Bishnoi group was connected to agents of the Indian government. India has strongly denied these allegations, calling them “preposterous” and accusing the Canadian government of pushing a political agenda.
