379,245 PVCs uncollected ahead of Saturday’s poll — INEC PVC As Saturday’s off-cycle governorship election in Edo State approaches, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that 379,245 Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs), representing 14.43%, remain uncollected. Sam Olumekun, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, revealed this in a statement on Tuesday. Despite a three-day extension granted by INEC following a stakeholders’ meeting, aimed at ensuring a successful election, a significant number of PVCs are still uncollected. The total number of registered voters in Edo State stands at 2,629,025. Of these, 2,249,780 (85.57%) have collected their PVCs, while 379,245 (14.43%) are still pending collection as of the end of the extended period on Sunday, 16th September 2024.
