  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.  A British man accidentally stabbed himself to death when he tried to separate two frozen burgers with a knife, an inquest has heard. Barry Griffiths, 57, died in his flat in Wales, UK, after throttling a knife through his stomach when preparing a burger meal. Police say his body was not discovered until several days later and when his body was found, it was fully clothed on his bed. It had to take a post-mortem examination, to show that Griffiths, who had restricted use of one arm after suffering a stroke, died of a stab wound. Concerns had been raised about Mr Griffiths’ welfare after he had not been seen for more than a week, the inquest was told. Griffiths, who was described as a ‘very private man’, was found fully clothed with his mobile phone, wallet, and computer according to reports.. Detective Sergeant Stephen Vaughan attended the flat and said he was satisfied that his death was not suicide but ‘more of an unexplained death’. There was no indication that he had been assaulted

 Two Brothers Arrested for Murder After Demanding Ransom in Batcham, West Region  Two brothers, Ndamené Kenné Derrick, also known as Arafat, and Noubissi Tiodong Hyppolite, both 22 years old, have been arrested by Batcham Gendarmerie for allegedly killing 58-year-old father of 8, Mr. Noutsa Maurice, on Monday, September 9, 2024, in Bamefouock, West Cameroon. Reports say the suspects entered Mr. Noutsa's home, held him hostage, and demanded a 3 million CFA ransom from his daughter. Although the ransom was paid, Mr. Noutsa was found dead when his daughter returned with security officers. The suspects later threatened to harm more family members if they were pursued. The suspects were tracked down using phone details from the ransom exchange. According to the Batcham gendarmerie, this wasn’t their first crime, as they had previously been imprisoned for killing their uncle. The brothers now face prosecution.

  TWO SUSPECTS WANTED FOR MURDER OF A FARMER AT A FARM IN GROBLERSDAL The Police at Groblersdal in Sekhukhune District are appealing to two foreign nationals Tobias Moyo (51) and Fanie Sergio Makwakwa (31) to avail themselves to the nearest police station as they believe that their presence may be of assistance in solving a number of serious cases that happened on a farm.  The following cases,  murder, robbery with aggreviating circumstances, housebreaking, unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition took place  at a farm near  Groblersdal on 06 August 2017. According to reports, a group of men attacked the farm owner and his family and assaulted the farmer to death. Family members were taken to the hospital for medical treatment and were later discharged. Among the group, four suspects were arrested, two on 06 August 2017, and another two on 08 August 2017. When they initially appeared in court on 08 August 2017, they were not given bail. However they were eventually granted bail.

  China’s Shanghai hit by biggest typhoon in 75 years  China's financial hub Shanghai has been hit by its strongest typhoon in 75 years. Typhoon Bebinca made landfall at 7.30am on September 16. Near its eye, the storm packed winds of more than 151km/h (94mph). The city had not seen a storm of this size since Typhoon Gloria in 1949. More than 414,000 people were evacuated ahead of Bebinca's arrival and emergency crews were put on standby. All residents were advised to stay indoors for their own safety. The storm disrupted travel during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, as major roads were closed and air, rail and sea travel was suspended. Services started to resume shortly after the storm passed the city and made its way into Jiangsu province. Watch video below.

According to Kate Henshaw’s story, she was driving around a roadside in Oniru, Lagos State, when she saw a Police van parked by the side. When the police stopped her, she whined down her window and asked what the issue was, and they started accusing her of using ‘one-way’, thereby disobeying traffic regulations. Kate Henshaw said everyone had been using one-way because part of the road was being fixed, and that if they were truly done with the road, they should’ve informed the public before placing a police van to arrest offenders. The actress went on to say that the argument went on for a while, and she had to get down from her car and talk to the police officers.  379,245 PVCs uncollected ahead of Saturday’s poll — INEC PVC As Saturday’s off-cycle governorship election in Edo State approaches, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that 379,245 Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs), representing 14.43%, remain uncollected. Sam Olumekun, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, revealed this in a statement on Tuesday. Despite a three-day extension granted by INEC following a stakeholders’ meeting, aimed at ensuring a successful election, a significant number of PVCs are still uncollected. The total number of registered voters in Edo State stands at 2,629,025.  Iran’s Ambassador to Lebanon Is Injured in Pager Attack, State Media Reports Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amini, lost one eye and severely injured his other eye when a pager he was carrying exploded in a simultaneous wave of blasts targeting wireless electronic devices, according to two members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps briefed on the attack. The Guards members, who had knowledge of the attacks and spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly, said Mr. Amini’s injuries were more serious than Iran initially reported and that he would be medevacked to Tehran for treatment. Last week, aviation unions in the country blamed the Federal Government for its refusal to reverse its 50 per cent deduction policy from the internally generated revenues of agencies in the aviation sector.  An Illinois woman accidentally drops baggies of cocaine during a meeting with her child's principal.  She immediately strangled the principal with his tie.  33-year-old Shakeda Barfield was attending a meeting with the principal of Welsh Elementary School on Wednesday, September 11th.  At some point during the meeting Barfield dropped several  bags of cocaine onto the office floor. Upon seeing the drugs, the principal informed Barfield that authorities would be notified. This sent Barfield into a violent rage and she began attacking the principal. During the attack the principal was punched, bitten and strangled with his tie. He suffered multiple injuries however none were serious or life threatening.  Shakeda Barfield was arrested on scene by Rockford Illinois PD and has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, aggravated battery to a school employee, possession with intent to deliver, aggravated battery and strangulation.  She was booked into Winnebago County Jail

 UPS driver that saved an elderly woman's life has adopted her as his new grandmother and visits her weekly in the hospital.  Back in August UPS driver Raheem Cooper was having a normal day while making his deliveries, but everything changed when his life intersected with Marie Coble. While Raheem had stopped to make a delivery in Valdosta, GA he was shocked to find an elderly woman collapsed on a nearby driveway. Raheem called 911 and stayed with the woman to make sure the woman was safe. Once in the hospital the woman was identified as Marie Coble and it was determined she had suffered a subdural hematoma. Marie underwent emergency brain surgery and is slowly rehabbing.  Doctors told family members had it not been for the intervention of Raheem, their loved one would have lost her life.  With this information, Marie's granddaughter Kayla Cochran took it upon herself to find Raheem's phone number and personally thank him.  However the goodwill between Raheem and the family

 Indiana- This 26-year-old man passed away due to deputies laying on top of him, with his face shoved in a pillow, for 15 minutes after 911 was called because he was having a seizure at home.  On September 8th, Rhyker Brian Earl was having a severe seizure. His grandmother called 911 while he was having the seizure. Jasper County Sheriff's deputies and EMTs arrived. After the severe seizure, Rhyker was attempting to put on a pair of shorts so he could go to the hospital in the ambulance.  Like so many other individuals who suffer from severe seizures, he was unsteady on his feet and in a confused state of mind.  While putting a pair of shorts on, Rhyker Earl stumbled, lost balance, and made accidental contact with an officer. Due to this stumble, officers laid on top of him while he seized. The deputies told him that he could not act that way to officers. This alarmed his grandmother since she saw that Rhyker was absolutely no threat, and threatening no one. He simply stumbled.  Rh

INDIANA STATE POLICE LAUNCHES AN INVESTIGATION AFTER 3 CHILDREN AND A WOMAN WERE FOUND DEAD IN THEIR HOME. (PHOTO).

 Indiana State Police launches an investigation after 3 children and a woman were found deceased in an Indiana home. Officers with the Wolcottville Police Department were called to execute a welfare check to a residence on S. Main Street in Wolcottville, Indiana at approximately 11:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept 17th. Once on the scene, police were shocked to discover the deceased bodies of 3 children and a woman. The local police department contacted ISP and their detectives responded to the scene. The identities and manner of death is expected to be shared publicly on Wednesday, September 18th, after the Noble County Coroner's office completes the autopsies.  The ISP has stated "although the matter remains under investigation there is no danger to the public at this time". We will update further when more information is available. Our thoughts are with everyone involved in this tragic event.

  Hezbollah Pagers Explode in Apparent Attack Across Lebanon Pagers carried by thousands of Hezbollah operatives exploded at about the same time Tuesday afternoon in what appeared to be an unprecedented attack that authorities said injured more than 2,750 and killed nine across Lebanon. Many of the affected pagers were from a new shipment that the group received in recent days, people familiar with the matter said.  The pagers exploded in southern Lebanon, the southern suburbs of Beirut known as Dahiyeh and the eastern Bekaa Valley - all Hezbollah strongholds. In one instance, closed-circuit surveillance video carried by regional broadcasters showed a person paying at a grocery store as what appeared to be a small handheld device placed next to the cashier exploded. A Hezbollah official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the detonation of the pagers was the "biggest security breach" for the group in nearly a year of conflict with Israel.  P. Diddy jailed as judge denies £38million bail after sex trafficking charges Sean 'Diddy' Combs has been ordered to be held without bail after being charged with sex trafficking. Manhattan federal Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky made the ruling after an almost two-hour-long hearing where prosecutors and the musician’s lawyer argued on whether he should be jailed until he faces trial.  The judge agreed with the argument put forward by the US Attorney’s office that Combs is a danger to the public and the potential witness in the case against him. He pleaded not guilty to racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges this afternoon, with his lawyers offering $50million for bail and in-home detention. Judge Tarnofsky heard both sides and taking a brief break to consult with court officials, it was ordered that Combs be ‘detained’. The next hearing is set for September 24.
