Abdou Dan Galadima, president of the State Court, the country’s highest legal authority that was created in November by the military government, announced the decision on Friday. The military authorities had initiated the legal proceedings earlier this year, declaring their intention to eventually prosecute Bazoum for “high treason” and for undermining national security. After Friday’s hearing, Ould Salem Mohamed, one of Bazoum’s lawyers, said they took note of the decision and that the defence team would make a statement shortly.  Appeal Court upholds status quo in disputed Rivers lawmakers’ case, sets June hearing date In a pivotal development, the Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt, during a virtual hearing conducted via Zoom, delivered its ruling on two motions filed by Martins Amaewhule and other defected lawmakers. The motions contested an injunction granted by the Rivers State High Court, which restrained them from acting as lawmakers. In its ruling on the first motion, the Court of Appeal granted the appellants’ requests. This included permission to compile and transmit the records of the appeal, the acceptance of the appellants’ brief of argument as filed, an accelerated hearing, and a stay of further proceedings at the High Court. However, the court refused to grant the stay of execution and the setting aside of the interim order of the lower court, citing the presumption of correctness of a court order. The court noted that granting such a stay would effectively determine the appeal prematurely. Consequ

A heroic 8-year-old boy loses his life shielding his mother from a bullet fired by his father. The couple's four other small children were present in the home at the time. This incident took place Wednesday, June 5th, in Burnsville, Minnesota.  On that evening, 8-year-old Amir Harden was struck with rounds in his head and neck while trying to keep his father, 30-year-old Danair Harden, from shooting his mother Cherish Edward's. Cherish Edwards (mom) says she screamed for the boy to leave, but he refused and was adamant in protecting her. Although he was not the intended target, Amir was struck and sacrificed himself in defense of his mother.  Amir clung to life in a local hospital until passing away from his injuries on Sunday. Danair had only just been released from jail in connection to a May 30th attack on the mom, Cherish.  Danair turned his weapon on himself after what he did to his son.  A rare Sitatunga Antelope dies after choking on a prohibited food package at a Tennessee zoo. A Sitatunga Antelope named Leif, passed away Saturday at Bright's Zoo after choking on a container for squeezable apple sauce.  David Bright, the owner of the zoo, says Leif was very people friendly and curious.  He said if someone threw or handed him something he would check it out.  Zoo staff noticed he was in distress and had a vet at the facility within 20 minutes, despite their best efforts to remove the package from his throat, Leif passed away. Bright went on to say that this was the very reason for food restrictions within the park. He reminded everyone there are designated picnic areas for guests to enjoy snacks.

7 YEAR-OLD BOY DIES IN A IN-HOUSE SWIMMING POOL, IN THE CARE OF FOSTER PARENTS. (PHOTOS).

Image
Springfield, Illinois- Barrett Koches, a 7-year-old foster child, passed away while in the care of David and Mike Yankee. The foster parents had an ingrown pool that was uncovered and full of black water. Barrett was home with two other small children without any adult supervision when he fell into the pool and passed away.  For everyone asking, there have been no charges at all placed against David or Mike Yankee. DCFS is not charging them with any child endangerment, abuse or neglect charges. They are continuing to allow David and Mike to be a licensed foster home.  If it was any of us that left minor children at home alone and one passed away, we would be arrested and charged.  I do not understand why DCFS is closing their eyes and pretending this isn't a serious infraction. I will not settle for Barrett getting absolutely no justice when he had so much life ahead of him. A FedEx driver had to call 911 and try to retrieve Barrett from the pool while holding back a 4 and 10 year
