 Putin and Senegal's Faye hold phone talk on counterterrorism Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Senegalese counterpart Bassirou Diomaye Faye discussed counterterrorism efforts in the Sahara-Sahel and West Africa during a Friday call, the Kremlin said, Anadolu Agency reported. The leaders emphasized strengthening Russian-Senegalese ties in trade, investment, and joint projects, particularly in energy, transportation and agriculture, the presidential office said in a statement. "The situation in the Sahara-Sahel and West Africa region was reviewed, focusing on instability caused by terrorist groups," the readout said. Putin also invited Faye to visit Russia. The call coincided with news that Faye’s ruling party won a large majority in parliament in this week’s elections, according to provisional results announced Thursday.

 Premier League clubs approve changes to APT rules Premier League clubs have voted to approve changes to rules governing commercial deals. At a meeting in London on Friday, clubs took under 30 minutes to approve the changes to Associated Party Transaction regulations (APTs). Clubs voted 16 in favour and four against. Those voting against included Manchester City and Aston Villa, who had both written to clubs before the meeting seeking support. For changes to be approved, a minimum of 14 Premier League clubs needed to vote in favour. Friday's vote came after an independent panel found aspects of the Premier League's rules to be unlawful earlier this year, following a lawsuit instigated by Manchester City. The Premier League said the rule changes relate to "integrating the assessment of shareholder loans" and "include the removal of some of the amendments made to APT rules earlier this year". Reports suggest that around ten individuals arrived at the construction site in a convoy, chased off workers, and damaged equipment.  Hemp Smokers Blamed for Fire that Destroyed Classrooms at Niger School On the evening of Thursday, November 21, 2024, a block of classrooms at Limawa Day Secondary School in Minna, Niger State, was destroyed by fire. The blaze is suspected to have been caused by a group of hemp smokers. Firefighters from the Niger State Federal Fire Service quickly arrived at the scene and managed to control the flames. Eyewitnesses reported that a group of young boys frequently gathered on the school grounds to smoke hemp. Ibrahim Mohammed, an eyewitness, explained that the fire was likely sparked by a burning cigarette butt discarded by the group. “These boys regularly come here to smoke weed, and with the harmattan season, things catch fire easily. A GROUP OF CALIFORNIA TEENS "GO VIGILANTE" TO BRING DOWN A PREDATOR. (PHOTO).

 A group of California teens "go vigilante" to bring down a predator. The Riverside County Sheriff Department were called on Friday to a park in Temecula, California.  Once on the scene, they made contact with approximately 20 teens who were using their phones to record an incident that was unfolding. Once authorities were able to get to the bottom of what was happening, they learned 46-year-old William Vanderbush (pictured below)  had sent nude photos to one of the teens in the group. He had also made plans to meet up at the park with the minor to engage in  "very intimate acts". It appears the group of teens had manufactured the online encounter in order to lure Mr. Vanderbush out and expose him as a child predator.  William Vanderbush was taken into custody and charged with sending harmful material to a minor, contacting a minor for sexual purposes and arranging to meet a minor for sexual purposes. 2 MEN ARRESTED AFTER CAUSING A TRAIN TO DERAIL IN THE UNITED STATES. (PHOTO).

 2  Illinois men arrested after causing a train to derail.  An engineer from Union Pacific noticed 2 men near a derailing device at the crossing in the 100 block of Sanitation Road near Bartonville, Illinois. Moments later the train went off the track, burying its wheels in gravel. No one was injured, however a crane was needed to right the train and they estimate damages at around $80,000. Burtonsville police were able to quickly locate 20-year-old Jimmy Johnson and 18-year-old Caleb Finley walking near the derailment site. After questioning, the two admitted to intentionally moving the derailing device, so they could watch the train derailing. The two were arrested and charged with criminal damage to property, criminal trespass and reckless conduct. (And to think my mom and dad had me terrified to leave a penny (so it could be flattened) on the railroad tracks I grew up next to. I felt guilty for even thinking about it. Lol.)

A MISSISSIPPI TEACHER IS OUT OF A JOB AFTER FEEDING STUDENTS DOG TREATS. (PHOTO).

 A Mississippi teacher Is out of a job after feeding students dog treats.  The incident happened in the Calhoun County school district. On the day of the incident there was a birthday party for one of the students. During the party the teacher distributed dog treats. She would later claim she thought it was beef jerky.  However the damage was already done with 8 students having eaten the dog treats. One of the 8 students had to receive medical treatment due to a stomach ache. Lisa Langford, the schools superintendent, credits the school nurse for her quick response in calling poison control. All of the parents of the affected students were immediately notified.  Dr. Langford would not release the name of the teacher involved but did report that she no longer works for the district.

 EFCC Arrests Woman for Employment Scam in Kaduna   The Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has arrested one Halima Yakubu Ngulde for suspected involvement in employment fraud.   She was arrested in Unguwan Kanawa, Kaduna State, following credible intelligence linking her to obtaining money from job seekers on fraudulent promise of getting job placements for them in the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army and the EFCC.   Items recovered from her upon her arrest included a fake EFCC letter headed paper and multiple curriculum vitae job seekers.   She will be charged to court as soon as investigation into the matter is concluded.  More photos below.

 FG respects court order, stops FAAC Allocation to Rivers State The Nigerian government has confirmed that it has stopped the October monthly Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) revenue payment to Rivers State. The development comes amid the ongoing face-off between Governor Simi Fubara and the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesome Wike. According to the Spokesperson of the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, Bawa Mokwa, the decision to stop the payment was made in respect of a court order. Mokwa disclosed that the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) will respect the court order, which barred the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Nigerian government from disbursing monthly allocations to the Rivers State government.  Appeal Court Nullifies Judgement On Rivers LG Election  The Court of Appeal Abuja has nullified the judgment of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which barred the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from releasing the voters’ register to the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission for the conduct of the state local government polls which has now been conducted. Delivering judgement, the special panel led by Justice Onyekachi Otisi, held that the lower court lacked the jurisdiction to entertain the matter as Section 28 of the Electoral Act does not cover elections conducted by states, only federal elections,  governorship and area council elections in the Federal Capital Territory.
