 Why no new refinery in other African countries in 35 years – Aliko Dangote Aliko Dangote, the owner of the $20 billion Dangote Refinery, has blamed beneficiaries of fuel importation in other African countries for the absence of new refineries in the continent in the past 35 years. Dangote disclosed this statement during a recent conversation with CNN’s reporter, Eleni Giokos, at his refinery in Lagos, Nigeria.  Edo LP: Akpata defies Abure, insists Ogbaloi remains State Chairman The crisis rocking Edo State chapter of the Labour Party (LP), got messier, following the rejection of the Mrs Elizabeth Ativie-led caretaker committee by the candidate of the party in the 21 September governorship election, Olumide Akpata. Instead, Akpata insisted that Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi remains the state chairman of the party. It would be recalled that the National Chairman of the party, Julius Abure, had on Monday, 27 May, dissolved the Kelly Ogbaloi-led state executive, over alleged expiration of tenure in office, and constituted a 17-man caretaker committee, chaired by Mrs. Ativie.  Strike: Labour’s Meeting With NASS Leaders Ends In Deadlock A meeting between the top echelon of the National Assembly and the national executives of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) ended in deadlock on Sunday. The filing came as part of a legal challenge against Biden's efforts to exercise executive privilege over the recording to keep it from the public.
