 Bodies of two US missionaries killed in Haiti last week returned to US The bodies of two U.S. missionaries gunned down and killed last week in Haiti have been returned to the U.S., the State Department confirmed Thursday.  Deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel said the bodies of Davy and Natalie Lloyd were repatriated and are now in the United States. "I'm not going to get into the deliberations beyond that.  Minneapolis neighborhood shooting leaves at least 2 people dead, 2 police officers injured, authorities say At least two people are dead, and two officers are injured after a gunman opened fire in a Minnesota neighborhood on Thursday afternoon. The Minneapolis Police Department confirmed with Fox News Digital that law enforcement are responding to an active situation in a residential neighborhood south of the city's downtown area. Sources confirmed to FOX 9 that one of the officers who was shot is in critical condition following the shooting. In a statement on X, Minnesota Gov.  FG secures $500m World Bank loan to fund Discos   The federal government has secured a $500  million loan from the World Bank to fund electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos). According to the Bureau of Public Enterprises,  in a statement in Abuja, yesterday, the loan would fill financing gaps in the distribution segment, considered as the  most problematic in the industry. “This funding supports the Nigerian Distribution Sector  Recovery Program (DISREP) aimed at improving the financial and technical performance of the DisCos. “The DISREP is designed to enhance the financial and technical operations of the DisCos through capital investment and  the financing of key components of their Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), which have been approved by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC),” the Bureau said in the statement signed by Amina Othman, Head, Public Communications.   It added that the $500 million DISREP loan  offered  concessional financing with more favor

POLICE ARREST ONE TRAFFIC ROBBER, TWO VANDALS Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have arrested a suspected traffic robber in Ketu on May 29, 2024, and also apprehended two suspected vandals in Alausa Business District, Ikeja on May 26, 2024. The traffic robbery suspect, Hakeem Badamosi 'm' aged 29, an ex-convict, was arrested while attempting to dispossess a passerby of his mobile phone.
