 Minneapolis neighborhood shooting leaves at least 2 people dead, 2 police officers injured, authorities say At least two people are dead, and two officers are injured after a gunman opened fire in a Minnesota neighborhood on Thursday afternoon. The Minneapolis Police Department confirmed with Fox News Digital that law enforcement are responding to an active situation in a residential neighborhood south of the city's downtown area. Sources confirmed to FOX 9 that one of the officers who was shot is in critical condition following the shooting. In a statement on X, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz thanked first responders for keeping the community safe. "The State Patrol is on the scene in South Minneapolis assisting local law enforcement," Walz said. POLICE ARREST ONE TRAFFIC ROBBER, TWO VANDALS Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have arrested a suspected traffic robber in Ketu on May 29, 2024, and also apprehended two suspected vandals in Alausa Business District, Ikeja on May 26, 2024. The traffic robbery suspect, Hakeem Badamosi 'm' aged 29, an ex-convict, was arrested while attempting to dispossess a passerby of his mobile phone. Badamosi, who was armed with a machete and charms, tried to flee upon seeing the officers but was promptly rounded up with the assistance of eyewitnesses.  PRESS RELEASE  FG Commits to Modernising Fire and Rescue Services with New Fire Act The Federal Government has announced its commitment to enacting a new Fire and Rescue Service Act to reflect modern trends in fire and rescue operations.  This was revealed by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, during the groundbreaking ceremony of the remodelled National Fire Academy in Sheda, Abuja, on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. "By the grace of God, we will work hard to see the repeal and enactment of a Fire and Rescue Service Act. The present law of 1963 is obsolete. The scope of fire services globally in 2024 is vastly different from what it was in 1963, and we cannot remain tethered to the past when we have the opportunity to create a future we can all be proud of.  "Your responsibility is not just to combat, prevent, or avoid fire incidents; it goes beyond that.
