 California man lost in forest for nearly 2 weeks is reunited with his family. 34-year-old Lukas McClish went for what he thought was a 3 hour hike on Tuesday, June 11th, in Boulder Creek park, CA. However at some point during his trek he became disoriented and become hopelessly lost.  No one in his family noticed his absence until Father's Day rolled around with no word from Lukas. They then became concerned and filed a missing person's report. The biggest challenge searchers faced was the fact that Lukas had not told anyone where he was going.  Onne Customs Hits 40.3% Annual Revenue Target, Collects N249B in 5 Months Comptroller Mohammed Babandede, in charge of the Nigeria Customs Service, Area 2 Command Onne, has announced the collection of N249 billion in revenue from January to May 2024. It is only a handful of staff who have their salary accounts with commercial banks that have received their April salary and fewer have received their May salary. Very alarming are instances where the few staff who received their May salary did not receive their April salary in the same bank. EFCC Arrests Two Former Bankers for Stealing Dead Customer’s Money in Makurdi   Operatives of  Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, have arrested two former staff of  Union Bank in Makurdi for allegedly stealing the sum of  N4,199,500.00 (Four Million One Hundred and Ninety Nine  Thousand Five Hundred Naira)  belonging to a deceased customer of the bank.   The suspects, Idah Ogoh and Agbo Okwute were arrested on Friday,  June 21, 2024 in Makurdi, Benue State.   Their arrest followed  a petition against them by the bank on  fraudulent debits on a deceased customer,  Emmanuel  Azer Agenna’s  account.  Court Jails Eight for Internet Fraud in Uyo The Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has secured the conviction and sentence of eight internet fraudsters before Justice Rosemary Oghoghorie of the Federal High Court, Calabar, Cross River State. The convicts are: Abasiofon Daniel Essien (a.k.a Jason Momoa), Gideon Junior, Edikan Ubong, Harrison Chiemelie, Ndifereke Umoh, Christopher Promise, Effiong Wisdom and Godswill Nsikan. They were prosecuted on two-count separate charges that border on criminal impersonation, identity theft and obtaining by false pretence.  2 teen girls pass away in horrific jet ski accident on Illinois lake. The incident occurred Tuesday on Lake Marie in Antioch, Illinois. According to reports, 13-year-old Elle Kim, was the passenger on a jet ski driven by 16-year-old Sarina Vootkur. The two were traveling north at a high rate of speed near the channel that connects Lake Marie to Grass Lake. At the same time a 55-year-old man was traveling westbound in a Sea Ray Cabin Cruiser with three other passengers. Eyewitnesses say due to the high rate of speed the girls were traveling there was no way the boater could avoid the crash. Both girls were knocked unconscious and thrown into the water as a result of the crash.  Court Orders Final Forfeiture Of Over N12.18bn Properties Linked To Emefiele The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Friday ordered the final forfeiture to the Federal Government properties valued at over N11.14bn and another N1.04 billion linked to the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele. Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke made the order of permanent forfeiture after hearing an application filed and argued by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), through its counsel Chineye Okezie. On June 5, 2024, The judge had upheld the anti-graft agency’s motion filed and argued by its counsel, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Rotimi Oyedepo for a temporary forfeiture of the properties.
