 Steelville, Missouri woman arrested after her 3 year old was found inside of a car with her deceased boyfriend while she was reportedly in a different nearby location "acting out of her mind".  Deputies in Crawford County were alerted to a very disturbing occurrence Thursday at the Birdsnest River Access. The 911 caller informed dispatch that they had found a deceased man inside of a car with a small child. The man went on to say that he and his wife had removed the child from the car and were caring for it. When Crawford County deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered 46-year-old Eric DeClue deceased inside of the vehicle. His cause of death is not known at this time. However deputies found evidence consistent with smoking methamphetamine inside of the vehicle.   SpaceX will return stranded astronauts next year Two Nasa astronauts who have been stuck in space for over two months will return to Earth in February 2025 with SpaceX. Nasa said the Boeing Starliner spacecraft the astronauts Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore had travelled to International Space Station (ISS) on would return to Earth "un-crewed". The pair took off on what was planned to be an eight-day mission on 5 June but will now spend around eight months in orbit. The Starliner experienced problems on its way to the ISS, including leaks of helium, which pushes fuel into the propulsion system. Several thrusters also did not work properly.   Congo Republic confirms 21 cases of mpox Twenty-one cases of mpox have been recorded in Congo-Brazzaville, the country's health minister said on Sunday, AFP reported. Gilbert Mokoki said that the central African country had "registered 158 suspect cases" since the beginning of the year, "21 of which we have confirmed." The latest two were reported on Thursday, he said. Cases of the infectious disease – formerly known as monkeypox – have been surging in eastern and central Africa, but the virus has also been detected in Asia and Europe, with the World Health Organization declaring an international emergency. The virus has been reported in five of Congo-Brazzaville's 15 regions, with the forested areas of Sangha and Likouala in the north particularly affected.  Russia and Ukraine exchanged 230 prisoners of war on Saturday, weeks after Ukraine launched a cross-border attack into the Kursk region of Russia. The Russians released on Saturday were captured in Kursk, Russian state news agencies reported, citing the country's defence ministry. The ministry said 115 soldiers were returned "from territories controlled by the Kiev regime," while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said "another 115 of our defenders have returned home today". It is the first such swap since Ukraine first began its incursion into Russia on 6 August.

  Suspected Terrorist Arrested After Synagogue Attack in France A 33-year-old Algerian national was arrested following a gunfight with police in Nimes, France, after allegedly attacking a synagogue in La Grande-Motte. The suspect, who was severely wounded, is accused of setting fire to the synagogue's doors while wearing a Palestinian flag, and causing an explosion in a parked car. A policeman was injured in the blast, but thankfully those inside the synagogue were unharmed. President Emmanuel Macron has condemned the attack as an "act of terrorism".  Three Police Officers Killed in Buea Attack Three police officers have reportedly lost their lives in Buea on the night of Saturday, August 24, 2024, in a tragic attack by armed men, reportedly linked to separatist fighters, according to Cameroon News Agency.  The officers were stationed at a temporary post near the newly inaugurated Buea Central Market on the road to Muea when the assault occurred. The victims have been identified as 2nd Grade Police Constable Laoumanga from the Second District Police Station, 2nd Grade Police Constable Tabe from the Third District Police Station, and 1st Grade Police Constable Beng from the Central Police Station.

 Kano unveils multi-million naira cattle market.  Kano State Governor, Kabir Yusuf, has commissioned a multi-million naira Dambatta international cattle market upgraded through a collaboration between the state Government and the Islamic Development Bank’s funded Kano State Agro-Pastoral Development Project.. This was made known in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa, on Saturday.. The statement read, “The Dambatta cattle market is one of the five other upgraded markets, which include Tsanyawa, Falgore, Doguwa and Wudil cattle markets, respectively.. “In each of the five markets, the state government has provided loading ramps, water facilities, office accommodation for market information, security posts, veterinary services infrastructure, public conveniences, as well as electricity for security to trade even in dark hours.’.

 MAN FRAUDULENTLY CLAIMS R70 MILLION FROM LETABA HOSPITAL OVER BOTCHED CIRCUMCISION  Health Minister, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi says one patient fraudulently claimed R70 Million over a botched circumcision at Letaba Hospital in Greater Tzaneen. Dr Motsoaledi, together with the Head of the Special Investigating Unit (SIU), Adv Andy Mothibi are briefing the media in Pretoria this morning.  This is on the preliminary findings of the ongoing multi-billion-rand investigation into medico-legal claims.  Motsoaledi says the hospital saved patient's life because he was actually treated for a genital infection.

 Man arrested after burning his female companion alive in Mpumalanga  During the incident, it is said that the suspect poured some flammable liquid on the woman, before she was saved by her neighbours. The woman is currently fighting for her life in hospital meanwhile the men and women in Blue responded swiftly, where they traced and arrested the male suspect, few hours later. According to a report, in the early hours of yesterday, 20 August 2024 around 03h00 am, neighbours were woken up by some noise of a woman screaming for help. When they went out to investigate, they saw a woman in agony, inside the flames of fire whilst her male companion was busy pouring her with some liquid from a two-litre container. When he realized that the neighbours were coming to her rescue, the man abandoned what he was doing then fled the scene.  The neighbours did their best to extinguish the fire whilst the female victim was taken to hospital for medical treatment.
