 ANAMBRA POLICE RESCUE A SUICIDER, RENDER MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND KEPT IN SAFE CUSTODY FOR MONITORING On 23/8/2024 Anambra Police rescued a young man who attempted to take his own life. He was debriefed, rendered medical assistance and kept in safe custody for monitoring. The young man, who was later identified as Alozie John ‘m’ aged 27years from Isielu LGA Ebonyi State but lives in Umunnachi, Dunukofia LGA, WhatsApp message was intercepted when he engaged the Command on a chat that he drank a poisonous substance hoping for death because of indebtedness of One million, two hundred thousand Naira to his supplier of livestock products. He further confessed that he deals with selling live Chicken and after he took the harmful chemical did not feel otherwise. Meanwhile, his mother was contacted, and she is currently assisting the Police with evaluation, references and transfer to a better facility for proper and other necessary care of the boy  *SP Tochukwu Ikenga* Police Public Relations

 HEARTLAND FC OF OWERRI INVOLVED IN GHASTLY MOTOR ACCIDENT Heartland FC vehicle has been involved in an accident on the way to Abakaliki for the Ifeanyi Ekwueme TICO/SELECT Pre Season Tournament. The accident happened at Umuna close to Okigwe still within Imo State. The vehicle in its attempt to dodge an uncoming vehicle collided with another carelessly parked vehicle from another accident. Though no death was recorded some players and officials sustained injuries and have been taken to the hospital. More photos below.

 FG issues alert over rising level of River Niger The Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) has issued a public warning regarding rising water levels in the River Niger as of August 22, 2024.  This cautionary alert is based on a report from the Niger Basin Authority in Niamey, Niger Republic, which highlighted significant impacts on the current water levels due to activities upstream in Niger and Mali. Umar Mohammed, the Director General of NIHSA, emphasized in a statement issued on Friday that floodwaters from these countries are expected to gradually flow into Nigeria through Kebbi State. He also mentioned that the operators of the Kainji and Jebba dams along the River Niger have been informed and are prepared to manage the situation. As of August 22, 2024, there has been no overflow of water from the reservoirs of these dams.  Texas school bars child with special needs from participating in football. Seventh grader, Kayden Walker, recently started his school year at Kleb Intermediate School. Kayden was pumped to be part of a team sport. Kayden's mother (Elizabeth) shared that he is very energetic and determined, he also passed a physical and was cleared medically for sports. What they were expecting was for Kayden to be able to practice with the team and be part of something he could feel really good about. Sadly, Kayden has not been able to experience any of those things as the school won't even let him on the field at all. Elizabeth stated at a recent meeting the coach said, "I didn't think you would even want him in athletics," after seeing Kayden's physical. She felt that he was being discriminatory towards her son especially since his physical completely cleared him and stated he was very healthy.  A Missouri Highway Patrol Officer was just arrested after stealing graphic images from people he had detained. 39-year-old David McKnight is being charged with 5 felony counts of invasion of privacy.  Court documents filed against McKnight allege between September 2023 and April 2024 he used his personal cell phone to take pictures of images on the cellphones of women he had detained.  The images consisted of images of 5 different women partially and fully unclothed.  Officer McKnight was arrested Wednesday night in Scott County. There are no additional details on McKnight's status as a defendant in the courts at this time. Individuals are urged to make sure any sensitive photographs are secured so others cannot easily access them, such as in a camera roll.

 Missing Montana motorcyclist survives 5 days with collapsed lung and multiple  fractures by drinking creek water. 24-year-old Zachary Demos and two friends set out on a summertime road trip on their motorcycles. As the trio traveled down Highway 12 in Idaho, Demos's riding partners noticed his Kawasaki Vulcan parked on the side of the road. The two continued to the next turnaround before pausing for Demos to catch up.  After waiting a while and with no sign of Demos, they retraced their path in an attempt to reconnect. They made it all the way to where they had seen Zachary's motorcycle, but upon their return... the motorcycle was gone.  The two hurried to the next planned rendezvous point and waited.  While waiting they asked everyone they came in contact if they had seen anyone fitting Zachary's description.
