  D oja Cat Overtakes Cardi B as Second Highest-Selling Female Rapper in History American rapper Doja Cat has surpassed Cardi B to become the second highest-selling female rapper globally, as confirmed by Billboard. Nicki Minaj retains the top position both in the U.S. and worldwide. In the U.S., Doja Cat now ranks second, followed by Megan Thee Stallion in third, and Cardi B in fourth. Globally, Nicki Minaj, Doja Cat, and Cardi B are the top three highest-selling female rappers. Billboard's rankings, based on performance on the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 charts, also named Taylor Swift the biggest artist of the 21st century, Drake as the top rapper, Maroon 5 as the biggest group, and Destiny's Child as the top girl group. CBN HALTS APPROVAL FOR EXTENSION OF EXPORT PROCEEDS REPATRIATION.(PHOTO).

𝐂𝐁𝐍 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐬 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧


The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced the suspension of approvals for the extension of export proceeds repatriation on behalf of exporters.


This directive which was issued through a circular dated January 8, 2025, take immediate effect.


The suspension applies to both oil and non-oil export transactions.


According to the apex bank, the move aims to enforce compliance with existing foreign exchange regulations.


The circular signed by the acting Director of the CBN’s Trade & Exchange Department, W.J. Kanya, outlined provisions in the Foreign Exchange Manual (Revised Edition, March 2018) as the basis for the decision.


These provisions include Memorandum 10A (23a) and Memorandum 10B (20a).


“With effect from the date of this circular, the Central Bank of Nigeria will no longer approve requests for extension of repatriation of export proceeds by Authorized Dealers on behalf of their customers.


“For the avoidance of doubt, proceeds of oil and non-oil exports are to be repatriated and credited into the exporters’ export proceeds domiciliary accounts within 180 days and 90 days from the bill of lading date for Non-Oil and Oil & Gas exports, respectively,” the circular said.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
