Judge rules US must return ‘cursed’ $1B emerald to Brazil after 23 years A battle over a reportedly “cursed” emerald between the nation of Brazil and American gem speculators could soon be over. A U.S. judge ruled Thursday, Nov. 20, that the emerald should be returned to Brazil after a long and heated journey. According to Brazil, the 836-pound Bahia Emerald was taken from a mine in 2001 and smuggled into the United States. The country wanted it back. However, several American gem enthusiasts were looking to make a fortune from the Bahia Emerald — one of the largest emeralds, if not the largest, in the world. It contains 180,000 carats and is estimated to be worth as much as $1 billion. According to The Washington Post, the emerald was in the possession of a Brazilian merchant nicknamed “the general” who had purchased it for $1,700. The merchant then sold it to two gem prospectors for $8,000. In 2005, the prospectors shipped it to the U.S. in hopes of finding a buyer, where reports sa

4-year-old hacks mom’s Amazon Prime account and orders 51 boxes of SpongeBob SquarePants Popsicles Four-year-old Noah Ruiz loves two things: Popsicles and SpongeBob. And when he discovered both objects of his passion had been combined into one fruity and delicious icy treat, he did the only sensible thing: he ordered them. To be exact, he ordered 918 of them. From his mom’s Amazon Prime account. Without telling her. Noah’s mom, Jennifer Bryant, had let Noah use her laptop for remote learning when his iPad wasn’t working. She was busy in another room when Noah evidently navigated his way into her Amazon Prime account, which she shares with her sister who lives nearby. In retrospect, there were signs something was about to happen. “He kept saying the number ’51.’ ” she said. “All day he was walking around saying ‘51, 51.’” But Jennifer didn’t think much of it because sometimes he repeats things: “I really wasn’t surprised because he was diagnosed with ASD (autism spectrum disorder).” Th

PRESS RELEASE NNPC Ltd Disclaims Assertions of Self-Acclaimed ‘Community Person’ on State of Port Harcourt Refinery …Says Claims Are Crass Display of Ignorance The attention of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has been drawn to a video clip of one Timothy Mgbere, a self-acclaimed “community person” who alleged that the much-publicised restreaming of the Port Harcourt and truck-out of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) which held earlier in the week were all false. We would have not bothered to reply him considering that all his assertions were a crass display of ignorance which is consistent with his claim of being a ‘community person’ who does not necessarily have any knowledge about the workings of the Port Harcourt Refinery. But the need to set the records straight and not to mislead the public has constrained us to clarify as follows: 1. He claimed that the Old Port Harcourt Refinery was only operating skeletally and was not processing PMS. His proof was that

NOW I HAVE TO PROVE MYSELF- GUARDIOLA. (PHOTO).

Image
Now I have to prove myself - Guardiola Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says he wants to "prove" he can drag the club out of their current slump. City head to Anfield on Sunday to face Liverpool off the back of losing five consecutive matches in all competitions and tossing away a 3-0 lead to draw with Feyenoord in the Champions League on Tuesday. Defeat on Merseyside would leave them 11 points adrift of Arne Slot's side in the Premier League table. Guardiola says in the present situation it is "unrealistic" to look at longer term targets like the possibility of winning the league title. Instead, he is focusing on his own contribution and the belief that, arguably, how he deals with the present situation is a greater test of his managerial abilities than the 18 trophies he has won at City. "Of course it's not nice but what do you expect? That everything is red carpet? That everything is nice and easy?" he said. "It's easy when you are [
