 WANTED SOLDIER ARRESTED OVER ALLEGED SUPPLY OF MILITARY ACCOUTREMENTS TO TERRORISTS Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested a soldier recently declared wanted by the Nigerian Army for his alleged involvement in the illegal supply of military accoutrements to terrorist and other criminal elements, in a sustained effort to dismantle criminal support networks. The suspect, 23NA/84/1939 Private Mohammed Yusuf of the Nigerian Army Ordnance Kits Factory, Lagos, was arrested at about 6:30 p.m. on 25 July 2026 by troops of 7 Provost Group, following credible human intelligence. He had been declared wanted by the Nigerian Army on 23 July 2026 over the same allegations.  DSS RESCUES REMAINING FOUR KIDNAPPED KAURA NAMODA FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC STUDENTS The Department of State Services (DSS) has rescued the four remaining students of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda, abducted by bandits in Zamfara State. A statement by the DSS says the students regain their freedom during a coordinated intelligence-led operation carried out without the payment of ransom. One suspected kidnapper is arrested, while others are neutralised. The students are among six abducted from their off-campus hostel in Kaura Namoda on June 3. Two regain freedom earlier, while sustained security operations secure the safe rescue of the remaining four. The latest breakthrough comes days after the DSS rescued a professor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, reinforcing the agency's sustained offensive against kidnapping and its commitment to protecting lives and improving public safety.

 Man jailed in Ghana for attempting to steal police armoured vehicle   The Kwadaso Circuit Court in Kumasi has sentenced a 26-year-old unemployed man to one month in prison for attempting to steal a police armoured vehicle at Nkawie in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality of the Ashanti Region, Ghana.   According to Adom Online, Ebenezer Frimpong, a native of Antwi Agyeikrom in the Atwima Mponua District, was arrested on April 15, 2026, after allegedly taking possession of the police vehicle. AFP quoted the French Foreign Ministry on 6 July as saying Burkina Faso’s chargé d’affaires in Paris had also been summoned and informed that Burkinabè diplomatic staff had until the evening of Monday 6 July to leave France. It said all French diplomats in Burkina Faso returned to France "late last week". In a notice issued by the State Department, authorities stated that citizens who owe more than $2,500 in child support are not eligible to receive a U.S. passport. “To be eligible for a U.S. passport, you must pay any outstanding child support. If you owe more than $2,500, federal regulations do not allow us to issue you a U.S. passport and we may revoke your valid U.S. passport,” the department said. The agency explained that passport holders whose travel documents are revoked will be formally notified. “Notices about passport revocations will be sent from the U.S. Department of State directly to the passport holder via email or to the mailing address provided on the most recent passport application,” the statement said.
