 Police Arrest Alleged Kidnap Kingpin in Rivers The Rivers State Police Command has apprehended 30-year-old Nwile Bete, a suspected kidnap leader, during an operation in Port Harcourt. The operation also resulted in the rescue of a 10-year-old boy who had been kidnapped by Bete. Police spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Friday. Bete allegedly abducted the boy on November 25 and demanded a ransom of N5 million for his release. The boy's mother reported the abduction, prompting the police's Anti-Kidnapping Unit to take action. Based on credible intelligence, officers tracked Bete to Rumuekeni School Road in Port Harcourt, where he was arrested.
