 PRESS RELEASE  POLICE ANNOUNCES FEBRUARY 1ST 2025 FOR ENFORCEMENT OF THIRD-PARTY INSURANCE FOR VEHICLE OWNERS, AS IGP PLAYS HOST TO COMMISSIONER FOR INSURANCE CHARGES NIGERIANS TO RESPECT LAW, POLICY. The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun Ph.D, NPM, received today January 10, 2025 the Commissioner for Insurance, National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin and team. Mr. Olusegun was accompanied by Dr. Usman Jankara, Deputy Commissioner (Technical); Mr. Ekerete Ola Gam-Ikon, Deputy Commissioner (Finance and Administration); Dr. Talmiz Usman, Director (Legal, Enforcement, and Market Development); Mr. Ajibola Bankole, Director (Inspectorate); Mr. Taiwo Babatola Adeoye, Special Assistant to the Commissioner for Insurance; and other members of NAICOM. EFCC ARRESTS FOUR CHINESE, 101 OTHERS FOR SUSPECTED INTERNET FRAUD IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Arrests Four Chinese, 101 Others for Suspected Internet Fraud in Abuja

 

In its ongoing efforts to clean the nation of internet fraud and other acts of corruption, operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC,  have arrested four Chinese and 101 Nigerians in a business apartment in the Gudu axis of Abuja.


They were arrested on Thursday,  January 9, 2025.


The suspects, comprising 67 male( including four Chinese) and 38 female  were  allegedly  involved in hotel review job scam targeting victims and hotels in Europe and other parts of the world.


The suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
