  D oja Cat Overtakes Cardi B as Second Highest-Selling Female Rapper in History American rapper Doja Cat has surpassed Cardi B to become the second highest-selling female rapper globally, as confirmed by Billboard. Nicki Minaj retains the top position both in the U.S. and worldwide. In the U.S., Doja Cat now ranks second, followed by Megan Thee Stallion in third, and Cardi B in fourth. Globally, Nicki Minaj, Doja Cat, and Cardi B are the top three highest-selling female rappers. Billboard's rankings, based on performance on the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 charts, also named Taylor Swift the biggest artist of the 21st century, Drake as the top rapper, Maroon 5 as the biggest group, and Destiny's Child as the top girl group.  Man arrested on suspicion of starting Los Angeles fire as California death toll hits 10


Arsonist with flamethrower’ tied up by LA residents in citizens arrest


An alleged arsonist suspected of sparking the latest fire in Los Angeles was found with what neighbours described as a “large propane tank or flamethrower”.

Residents bundled the man to the ground and tied him up with zip ties in order to carry out a citizens’ arrest before police arrived at the scene in the West Hills.

“We really banded together as a group,” Renata Grinshpun told KLTA 5 TV channel. “A few gentlemen surrounded him and got him on his knees.”

Charles Dinsel, the senior lead officer, confirmed that a man was caught trying to start a fire. The suspect is reported to be homeless and in his 30s.

The cause and reason behind the Kenneth fire which broke out on Thursday afternoon still remains unclear, but officials say it is “being investigated as a crime”.

By 11pm on Thursday, the fire had burned through more than 1,000 acres and had reached 35 per cent containment. Officials said the “forward progress” of the blaze had been stopped with firefighters battling it overnight.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
