PDP Aims to Win More Governorship Seats in 2027 — NWC

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed confidence that the party will secure more governorship positions and take control of the federal government in 2027. During a visit to Governor Douye Diri in Sampou, Bayelsa State, the NWC emphasized that widespread dissatisfaction with the current economic conditions in Nigeria positions the PDP as the only viable opposition to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). National Treasurer Ahmed Yayare stated that the PDP is poised to regain leadership, with a vision to deliver the country from the economic hardship caused by the APC government.

Yayare stressed the urgency of the PDP's return to power, warning that failing to do so could threaten Nigeria's democracy. He encouraged unity among PDP governors and support for the party's efforts to reclaim the presidency in 2027. Additionally, PDP National Secretary Ude Okoye assured that the NWC was committed to strengthening the party and demonstrating to Nigerians that there is an alternative leadership option. Governor Diri, in his response, called for unity among the party's governors and emphasized the need to work together to ensure PDP’s success in the upcoming elections.
