 Otu Odu Ojoto Launches "Light Up Ojoto" N100 Million Project By Juliana Nwachukwu The Otu Odu, a women association in Ojoto, Idemili South Local Government Area, Anambra State has launched "Light Up" Ojoto, a project which they embarked on for community development and to ward off crime and criminality in the community. Speaking during the event at Igwe Palace Arena, Enugo Village Ojoto, Chief Mrs Cecilia Okeke-Eweni, the PRO who was also the Secretary, Project Planning Committee disclosed that Out Odu being the apex women's association in Ojoto is determined to permanently stamp its presence on Ojoto, through the introduction of this laudable project, 'Light Up Ojoto'. She noted that the project aimed to beam light into every nook and crannies of Ojoto, thereby banishing the unsavory and restoring security in Ojoto.  Two Edo Fire Service Officials Hospitalized After Building Collapse in Benin City


Two fire service officials in Edo State have been hospitalized after sustaining injuries in a building collapse while responding to an emergency.

The incident occurred early Friday at the Evbuotubu community in Benin City, as the officials were battling a fire that had engulfed the structure.


According to eyewitnesses, the building collapsed on the officials during their firefighting efforts.


As of the time of this report, it remains unclear whether the injured personnel belong to the Edo State Fire Service or the Federal Fire Service.


When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Federal Fire Service in Edo, Deputy Superintendent Asimu Sumaila, stated that he was yet to be briefed on the incident. He assured reporters he would provide updates after receiving details from the operational team.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
