Ouattara wants 'to continue' as Côte d'Ivoire's President Côte d'Ivoire President Alassane Ouattara said on Thursday he would like to continue serving his country as president but emphasised that his party had not yet made a formal decision on its candidate for this year's election, TRT Afrika reported. Ouattara, 83, was re-elected for a third term in 2020 following a 2016 constitutional referendum allowing him to extend his rule. During the last election, Ouattara had argued that the approval of the new constitution allowed him to restart his mandate. He has previously said he would like to step down, but also suggested he would need old rivals to commit to withdrawing from politics too. "I am in good health and eager to continue serving my country," he said in an address to the diplomatic corps in Abidjan, the strongest signal yet that he plans to stand again.  Transfer News: Ronaldo Urges Al-Nassr to Pursue Casemiro Signing

Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly encouraged the club to sign his former teammate Casemiro from Manchester United.

Ronaldo and Casemiro previously played together at Real Madrid and later reunited at Manchester United.

While Ronaldo’s future at Al-Nassr remains uncertain—his £177 million-a-year contract is set to expire this summer—he is keen on seeing the team bolstered to compete effectively against Saudi Pro League rivals Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal.

According to Marca, Ronaldo has expressed interest in having Casemiro join Al-Nassr as part of the club’s efforts to strengthen its squad.

Casemiro, who joined Manchester United from Real Madrid in 2022 for £70 million, earns £350,000 weekly. Reports suggest that Manchester United may be willing to offload the 32-year-old Brazilian to free up funds for manager Ruben Amorim’s transfer plans.

It remains uncertain whether Al-Nassr will secure Casemiro’s services in the ongoing transfer window.
