 New Head of Service Urges Anambra Civil Servants to Embrace Efficiency and Accountability ‎ ‎By Chizoba Njaka  ‎ ‎The newly appointed Head of Service in Anambra State, Ngozi Anuli Iwouno, has called on civil servants to shift towards efficiency and accountability, promising improvements in welfare.  ‎ ‎Addressing staff at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex in Awka, Iwouno outlined her vision for a professional, merit-based, and citizen-centered service that aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's goals. ‎ ‎Iwouno emphasized that her mission is not just a statement, but a call to action, demanding sincerity and commitment from all workers. She expressed disappointment with the recent governor's visit, which revealed empty offices during working hours, and stressed that absenteeism, lateness, and poor attitudes are unacceptable. ‎ ‎The Head of Service pledged to improve welfare, including fixing ministry vehicles, and mandated that Wednesday 1st April , 2026 will be clean...

A FORMER OKAW VALLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER HAS BEEN SENTENCED (AGAIN) TO 5 YEARS FOR CHILD GROOMING AND SOLICITATION OF A MINOR. (PHOTO).

 A former Okaw Valley Middle School teacher has been sentenced (again) to 5 years for child grooming and solicitation of a minor. 


Jason Engler, 45, is already serving a 3 to 5 year sentence at Graham Correctional Center for one victim that was his student. The victims were both middle school age.  Mr. Engler reportedly sent pornographic images of himself to students as well as keeping a journal about not only marrying one victim and taking her to Ohio but fantasy fiction about another victim. He was arrested in the summer of 2024 for both victims. 


After the first arrest when he was released with an ankle monitor, he tried to get in contact with another victim. He was arrested again immediately after his first arrest. 


When the parents of one victim came forward to the school and explained that Mr. Engler was stalking and harassing their child, the school stated that "he was just a nice guy". They explained he was just friendly. 


I have seen the photographs and videos of Mr. Engler stalking a victim. It is alarming. Community members sent me the photographs. 


Individuals in the community took photographs of Mr. Engler because they stated they "knew something was wrong" and they felt he was targeting a particular young lady. In fact he was targeting two particular young ladies. After targeting them, he spent nearly two years grooming them. 


Jason Engler received 5 years for the first victim in court on Wednesday (yesterday). However, the 5 years will run concurrently with his current 5 years which is something many people in the community did not want to happen. They felt he should have to serve independent time for each victim. 


Our thoughts remain with the victims.

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
