 ANAMBRA POLICE TAKES OVER THE SCENE OF A FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT THAT CLAIMED THE LIVES OF SIX PERSONS IN ONITSHA TO FACILITATE INVESTIGATIONS The Anambra State Police Command has taken over the scene of a fatal motor accident that occurred on 15th March 2025 by 9pm at Upper Iweka axis of Onitsha.  The accident claimed the lives of six persons and left a few others with various degrees of injury. The aim of the take over is to ensure order in the area as well as to facilitate investigations into the incident . Eye witness accounts reveal that the accident occurred as a result of loss of control of a truck that rammed into pedestrians, two tricycles and a commercial bus loaded with passengers. Meanwhile, some of the injured are currently receiving treatment in the hospital, while the deceased has been deposited in the morgue and some relatives of the victims have been contacted and debriefed about the incident.   In a significant move to combat arms trafficking, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has handed over 1,599 assorted arms and 2,298 live cartridges to the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW). Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, who oversaw the handover ceremony in Lagos, revealed that some importers of the assault weapons have been convicted, while others are still facing trial. Additionally, 11 suspects linked to the arms trafficking network were handed over for further investigation and possible prosecution. Adeniyi emphasized the NCS's commitment to protecting Nigeria's borders through targeted anti-smuggling operations and intelligence-driven interventions.   U.S Navy EA-18G Fighter Jet Crashes Into San Diego Bay A US Navy electronic-warfare aircraft crashed into San Diego Bay near Naval Air Station North Island on Wednesday, sending two service members to the hospital. The US Navy confirmed there were two pilots onboard the Boeing EA-18G Growler, and both were rescued. The crash was reported near Shelter Island just after 10:16 a.m. local time, according to the San Diego Fire Department. The Coast Guard San Diego Office confirmed to Fox News that the pilots were rescued by a fishing vessel. They were then transferred to CBP Air and Marine Operations. The pilots were both taken to a local hospital and were said to be in stable condition, according to the Coast Guard. The community is demanding that Shell takes immediate action to clean up the spill and restore their environment.   A recent raid by the Ogun State Amotekun Corps has rescued 14 teenage girls from a sex trafficking camp in Ifo Local Government Area. The survivors, aged between 12 and 39, were forced into prostitution at a hotel along the old bank road in Ifo. The girls, mostly from Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Delta states, were coerced into taking an oath, which involved being stripped naked and having parts of their hair cut off for alleged ritual purposes. This traumatic experience was meant to scare them from running away or confessing. A 14-year-old survivor, who was trafficked into Ogun State on January 29, 2024, revealed that she was forced to sleep with 10 to 12 men daily. She was told she would work as a salesgirl but was instead forced into prostitution. The survivor, a JSS3 dropout, was given drugs to take before starting work and was paid between N1,000 to N2,000 per customer.
