FLORIDA MAN PLACED AN 8-MONTH-OLD BABY ON THE ROAD, THEN RAN THE CHILD OVER AFTER GETTING INTO AN ARGUMENT WITH HIS PASSENGER. (PHOTO).

 Florida man placed an 8-month-old baby in the road then ran the child over after getting into an argument with his passenger. Jacksonville Sheriff's office was called to the scene of an accident at 10:39 a.m. on Saturday, January 25th. Once on scene officials discovered an infant in the roadway.  The infant was transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced deceased. Witnesses recanted a chilling tale that eventually led to the arrest of 20-year-old Justin Golden. According to reports, Golden was driving in a vehicle with the child and a female passenger when the couple began arguing. The female passenger is believed to be the infant's mother. As the vehicle stopped at the intersection of Lennox Avenue and McDuff Avenue, eyewitnesses say Golden "opened his car door and placed the baby in the roadway". SPECTATOR DIED AFTER A HAMMER THROWN BY AN ATHLETE FLIES OUT OF BOUND AND STRUCK HIM . (PHOTO).

 Spectator loses his life when a hammer thrown by an athlete flies out of bounds at high-school track/field event. This tragic incident took place Sunday, January 26th in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to the campus of UCCS where a track meet was being held by Colorado United Track Club.  Upon arrival they were directed to a spectator in the audience who reportedly had been struck by a "hammer" thrown by a student. The hammer had went past the certified barriers and struck the man in the head.  First aid was rendered but ultimately the man was pronounced deceased on scene. The victim has not been identified by name but has been reported as being the father of one of the athletes from Vista Ridge high-school. The photograph below is unrelated. It is a stock photo to show what a hammer is in track and field and how it is used.

   The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Nentawe Yilwatda, says some politicians are trying to influence poor Nigerians who make the social register to enjoy the governmentā€™s conditional cash transfer. The minister, who spoke on Monday, said some persons want his ministry to bend for political reasons but unfortunately itā€™s a partnership between us and the international community ā€“ the World Bank is involved, CSOs (civil society organisations) are involved and itā€™s not just a ministry activity. The minister said he suspended cash transfers and that National Identification Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN) are now compulsory for all digital transfers for audit and transparency purposes. Former President Muhammadu Buhari has lamented the current hardship in Nigeria. Buhari disclosed that he now relies on rent from one of his two houses to feed himself. Addressing the All Progressives Congress, APC, Caucus at the Katsina State Government House, the former president insisted that he never enriched himself in a corrupt way while in office for eight years. He noted that he has only three houses in Daura, Katsina State, and Kaduna State, Buhari, insisting that nobody could blackmail him for illicit enrichment while in office. The former president tasked leaders on transparency and accountability as guiding principles while in office. Buhari pointed out that most Nigerians are unaware of the administrative challenges involved in governing the country but simply blame their leaders during and after their tenures.

The European Commission confirmed the move on Monday. The carmakers, along with Chinese manufacturers BYD, Geely, and SAIC, are contesting the tariffsā€”some of which reach up to 35%ā€”at the European Court of Justice.   A drug cartel ringleader has been captured after his wife shared luxury holiday photos online, giving away his location. Luis Manuel Picado Grijalba, 43, was arrested at a London airport in December after he was accused of shipping cocaine from LimĆ³n, Costa Rica to the US, Nicaraguaā€™s La Prensa reported. Grijabla, who goes by his alias ā€œShock,ā€ was wanted by the US Drug Enforcement Administration for several months for his alleged involvement in international drug trafficking, said Randall ZĆŗƱiga the director of Costa Ricaā€™s Judicial Investigation Department (OIJ). Grijabla, who is a naturalized Costa Rican citizen, met his wife in Paris and had planned to ring in the New Year with his family in England before his arrest. To document the vacation, Grijablaā€™s wife, Estefania McDonald Rodriguez, made several posts to a now-deleted Instagram account during her European travels, according to The Sun.
