 Sanusi shouldnā€™t parade himself as Emir of Kano, says plaintiff Kingmaker, Aminu Baba-Danā€™Agundi, on Saturday advised Muhammadu Sunusi II not to parade himself as the 16th Emir of Kano, following Fridayā€™s Court of Appealā€™s ruling on the emirship tussle. The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Friday stopped the enforcement of its January 10 judgment setting aside the June 20 order by Justice Abubakar Liman of the Federal High Court, Kano, nullifying the steps/actions taken by the Kano State Government pursuant to the Kano State Emirate Council (Repeal) Law 2024, including the appointment of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the 16th Emir of Kano. The Appeal Court granted the order for stay of execution, pending the determination of the pending appeals before the Supreme Court, in two rulings in two applications, filed by Agundi.   Africa faces diabetes crisis, study finds Diabetes is a condition in which the body struggles to turn food into energy due to insufficient insulin. Without insulin, sugar stays in the blood instead of entering cells, leading to high blood-sugar levels. Long-term complications include heart disease, kidney failure, blindness and amputations.  The International Diabetes Federation estimated in 2021 that 24 million adults in sub-Saharan Africa were living with the condition. The syndicate's leader, Ikoro Mang Ifendu, was arrested on February 7, 2025, for impersonating a NAFDAC staff member and scamming foreign companies with fake documents. According to NAFDAC Director General, Professor Mojisola Adeyeye, Ifendu, born on January 2, 1973, is a native of Amamba village, Abiriba in Ohafia LGA, Abia state, and deals in clothing materials.  Two Texas special education teachers have been fired after heartbreaking video surfaces of them abusing a special needs child. The video was captured by an assistant teacher on February 18th at Millsap Independent School District. In the video you can see 10-year-old Alex Cornelius, a non verbal autistic child, being slapped by his special education teacher. Alex then walks across the room to the assistant teacher who yells at him before hitting him multiple times with an object. The assistant then throws the object at the child. Alex's mother, Carissa, says she did not find out about the incident until 21 days after the abuse happened.  Millsap Independent School District said the two teachers are no longer employed at the district. They utilized independent investigators which also led to the principal and assistant principal being put on administrative leave.  Multiple Killer Enoch Ndou Sentenced to Life in Prison The Thohoyandou High Court, sitting at Waterval Magistrate's Court, has sentenced Enoch Ndou to life imprisonment for multiple murders. Ndou carried out the brutal killings on Christmas Day in 2021 at Jimmy Jones village near Malamulele, Limpopo. His victims included family members, reportedly due to a dispute over inheritance. Among those killed was his pregnant cousin and her unborn child. The horrific crime shocked the community and the country. With the sentencing, justice has been served for the victims and their families. More photos below. 

OTEDOLA GAS EXPLOSION: A COUPLE CONFIRMED BURNT ALIVE DURING THE EXPLOSION. (PHOTOS).

 A newlywed couple, Dozie and Joan Okoye, d!ed in the gas explosion on the Otedola Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.  It was gathered that the couple got married on February 22, 2025.  According to reports, Dozie and Joan were on the way home when their phone lines suddenly became unreachable.  After searching for them at the Burns Center in Gbagada and Yaba Mortuary, their charred remains were finally found on Wednesday evening. The only identification was their car's registration number, which was found among the burnt vehicles.  The explosion, which occurred at 8:08 pm on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, was caused by a 30-tonne tanker carrying gas products, said to be owned by a nearby gas station.  The blast severely affected a Dental Clinic, while the generator house and security post of a nearby church building also sustained significant damage.  Responders recovered four charred bodies, including that of an auto mechanic identified as Rotimi Ad...

 Tragedy Strikes Abia Community as Banished Commercial Motorcyclist Meets Untimely Death A devastating incident has shaken the Obuoro community in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, following the murder of a commercial motorcyclist, Mr. Okezie Onyema Onyendu. The victim, who was allegedly banished by his community over a land dispute, succumbed to injuries sustained from a brutal attack on March 7, 2025. According to reports, Onyendu was assaulted at Amawom village, where his attackers severed one of his ears and stole his motorcycle, phone, and earnings.  Ekiti to recruit 1,800 secondary school teachers, non-teaching staff Ekiti State Government has approved recruitment of 1,800 teaching and non-teaching staff into public schools in the State. Commissioner for Information Taiwo Olatunbosun who made this known in a statement to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, explained that the authorisation is a continuous exercise aimed at addressing gaps and possible shortfalls created by workers leaving the public service due to abscondment and the japa syndrome, resignation, as well as mandatory or voluntary retirement after attaining the compulsory retirement age or the maximum number of years in service. He noted that about 170 teaching staff would be disengaging from the public service before the end of the year, adding that properly scheduled recruitment exercise remained the only panacea for guiding against shortage of staff and its attendant problems.
