 A shocking incident has emerged from Barbali in Hojai, where a mosque imam has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl. The crime, which took place during the holy month of Ramadan, has sparked outrage in the local community.   The accused, identified as Yahia Ahmed, was taken into custody by Debasthan police after the victim, a teenage student, filed a complaint. She alleged that the imam subjected her to sexual abuse, leading authorities to launch an immediate investigation.   Following the complaint, Debasthan police arrested the accused and initiated legal proceedings.  Wike Revokes PDP National Secretariat Land in Abuja The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has revoked the land allocated to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for its national secretariat in Abuja. In a revocation notice dated March 13, 2025, and signed by the Director of Land Administration, Chijioke Nwankwoeze, Wike cited the partyā€™s failure to pay annual ground rents for 20 yearsā€”from January 1, 2006, to January 1, 2025ā€”despite multiple reminders through national newspapers and electronic media. The letter stated that the revocation was carried out under the powers conferred on the minister by the Land Use Act No. 6 of 1978. It also referenced Section 28, Subsection 5 (a) and (b) of the Act, which allows for land repossession due to non-compliance with occupancy conditions. The FCT administration will now take immediate possession of the property until all outstanding payments are settled.

 Fire Razes Trucks at Kwara Park A fire outbreak at Alagbede Tipper Garage in Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State early Tuesday morning destroyed three trucks out of 42 parked at the site. Reports indicate that the fire began around 1:45 a.m. from a waste collection truck containing refuse, which ignited and spread to two other trucks before firefighters managed to contain it. Confirming the incident, Hassan Adekunle, spokesperson for the Kwara State Fire Service, stated, ā€œThe fire service received a distress call at 1:35 a.m. and promptly responded.
