The all-male suspects were arrested in a sting operation at Commissioners’ Quarters, Dr. J. O. Ukwutinife Close, Ifite, Awka, Anambra State, following credible intelligence linking them to fraudulent internet activities. Silas was caught at Orugbo Plaza, Ovwian, attempting to forge legal documents using a scanned lawyer's seal. The branch, led by David Omage Esq, subdued the suspect after a struggle and alerted the Ovwian Police Division.  Immigration Arrests 90 Foreigners for Cybercrimes in Rivers The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Rivers State Command, has apprehended 90 suspected illegal immigrants involved in cybercrimes targeting Nigerians. Working alongside other security agencies, the NIS arrested the suspects at their hideout in Rivers State. State Comptroller YI Abdulmajeed revealed that 94 individuals were detained during the operation. Profiling identified 85 Cameroonians, five Chadians, and four Nigerians among them, with 74 males and 20 females. Abdulmajeed stated that all 90 foreigners entered Nigeria through unauthorized routes and lacked valid residence permits or travel documents. Additionally, two Nigerians who provided accommodation to the suspects were also arrested. The Comptroller General of Immigration, Kemi Nanna Nandap, has directed the repatriation of the foreigners to their respective countries.

According to a reliable source, the radiographer failed to provide the key to the emergency X-ray room, delaying critical treatment. The patient, who had been rushed to the hospital, slipped into a coma and later passed away. The source added, “The radiographer could not offer any explanation regarding the missing key.” The hospital’s management issued a termination letter dated January 22, signed by Dr. Maria Bassey, the Director of Administration. While the letter did not specify reasons, it is believed the dismissal was tied to the incident.  Ancestral properties worth Rs 15,000 crore, belonging to Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan’s Pataudi family, may come under the Central government’s control following a recent court ruling.  The Madhya Pradesh High Court has lifted a stay on these properties, many of which are in Bhopal. These assets could now be acquired under the Enemy Property Act, 1968, which allows the government to claim properties owned by individuals who migrated to Pakistan after Partition in 1947. The Pataudi family has been asked to present their case before the appellate authority within 30 days of the December 13, 2024, order. The properties in question were declared government property by the Enemy Property Custodian Office in 2015, leading to a legal battle between the Pataudi family and the Centre.  LAGOS TASKFORCE ARRESTS HIT-AND-RUN DRIVER, RESCUES VICTIM The Lagos State Taskforce has apprehended a hit-and-run driver, identified as Dauda Bello, a resident of Adebayo Street, Oshodi, for reckless driving. The incident, which occurred yesterday afternoon, left the victim, Oluwole Bukola, a resident of Ibafo, Ogun State, severely injured. Preliminary investigations revealed that the accident was caused by overspeeding and reckless driving on the part of the driver. Swift intervention by officers of the Lagos State Taskforce ensured that the victim received immediate medical attention, while the driver was promptly arrested.  POLICE ARREST FAKE SOLDIER FOR ABDUCTING MAN Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have arrested a suspected army impersonator for abducting a young man in Ikeja abandoning him on the Third Mainland bridge, and making away with his iPhone 13. The suspect, Kingsley Wanogho, 42, a dismissed army sergeant and ex-convict, was arrested at Ikeja Underbridge by police operatives after being spotted by one of his victims around Computer Village, Ikeja on Saturday. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect on 30th December 2024 accused his victim of stumbling on him. He claimed he lost a gold ring in the process and that his victim must produce the ring for him.
