Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Anambra State, is set to graduate 8,157 students during its 19th convocation ceremony for the 2023/2024 academic session. The event, beginning on Wednesday, March 25, will feature a convocation lecture by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.
Speaking at a press briefing, the acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu, announced that the university would confer honorary degrees on three distinguished individuals for their contributions to societal and institutional development. The honorees include the Minister of Health, Dr. Ali Pate; industrialist, Chief Chika Emenike; and Oluwaseyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu.
Ikechebelu highlighted the universityās commitment to academic, infrastructural, and administrative excellence, noting improvements in security, digitalization, and electricity supply on campus. He assured attendees of a well-organized and secure convocation ceremony while emphasizing ongoing campus development projects.
