 When a child told a Kansas babysitter there was a "monster under the bed" she had no idea a real life monster was lurking. At around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, March 24th, a babysitter in Kansas was putting the children she was caring for to bed when one child made a not particularly unusual claim. The child told the babysitter that there was a "monster under the bed". In an attempt to calm the young child, the babysitter entered the bedroom and made her way over to the bed to assure the child there was nothing under the bed.  As she bent down to show the child there was nothing to fear she came face to face with every babysitter's worst nightmare. When the owners of Bistro & Bar in Evansville, Indiana recently had a problem with their plumbing they called Heavrin Plumbing Company. Heavrin Plumbing came out to fix the blockage that was causing the grease trap to overflow. However, 3 days later, the plumbing became blocked again and Heavrin was called back out. They considered this visit to be on overtime hours and the company's bill reflected that. They charged the restaurant nearly double what the first bill had been. While the first bill had been only $235 the second bill was for $ 390. The restaurant manager said the exact work was done but the second bill was for significantly more.  NLC Demands Workersā€™ Protection Amid Rivers Political Crisis The Rivers State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has urged that workers remain unaffected by the stateā€™s ongoing political crisis. The union called for the immediate implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage at the local government level and the payment of all outstanding salaries. NLC Chairman Alex Agwanwor reaffirmed opposition to the state of emergency in Rivers and warned that if salaries remain unpaid by the end of March 2025, the union may take legal or industrial action. Local government workers have yet to receive their February salaries following the Supreme Courtā€™s annulment of the 2024 LGA elections, which led to the removal of all 23 chairmen.
