 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police.       Young and Pretty Lady Evangelist Leji Folashode,is from Ese Odo Local Government Area of Ondo state.She is a gospel artist and she has been in the music industry since 2010.She have one gospel album to her music credit titled ''There is Still Mercy''. I had the pleasure of interviewing her one on one yesterday and below are her reply to all our questions.
Question: Can you introduce yourself to our readers?
Reply: My name is Evangelist Leji Folashade.
Question: What is your educational background Like?
Reply: I studied Diploma in Accounting,at the Polytechnic of Ibadan.
Question: Are you married?
Reply: Not yet.I believe there is appointment time for everything,I will at the appointed time.
Question: How do you handle your male fans?
Reply: I treat both male and female fans equally.God is love,I know that one love will keep us together and perhaps am a full time minister in C.A.C.
Question: What is the full meaning of C.A.C?
Reply: Christ Apostolic Church.
Question: What challenges do you face in promoting your musical work and do they demand money from you before they play your music?
Reply: There are many challenges but I will mention few.There is inadequate finance,In time past,I replayed on some people to assist me financially but at the end of it they all disappointed me.I have gone to many radio stations,they would say if you want us to play your music bring money.At a time I was discouraged.I almost gave up on music.But the love for God's work kept me going.
Question: Some Gospel artist copy from other gospel artist and use their musical works without permission,would you say copying another person's song is part of spreading the gospel or stealing?
Reply: Although I don'y do that but I would advice artistes to register there work with the NCC to secure their job.Spreading the gospel has nothing to do with copying another person's song.Every gospel artist should ask God for inspiration and stop stealing other people's song.
Question: How do you relax?
Reply: I watch movies at home and study too,that is how I relax.
Question: Who designs your outfits?
Reply: No one in particular designs my outfit.
Question: Where do you see Gospel music in the next 10 years in Nigeria?
Reply: I see Gospel music taking over.This is end time most circular musicians are coming back to gospel.
Question: Are you involved in any charity work?
Reply: No,what I do for now is going out for evangelism,although I have it in mind because giving is one of the things I want to be remembered for.
Question: I want you to say a prayer for Nigeria.
Reply: I pray that Nigeria will not die,Nigeria will not break,affliction shall not rise the second time,Nigeria will not experience war again,God will save Nigeria and restore her again in Jesus name.Amen.
