 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu


Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday.


Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole.


He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. We made him governor because Oshiomhole persuaded us. I was not among those who thought he should not be governor; it was because I didn’t have faith in him.


“When he was nominated to run, I was the last person to oppose him, but out of respect, I was swayed. We were told, and Comrade predicted accurately, that we needed him because we were entering a recession and required someone with an economic background and private sector experience. We trusted Comrade, but we didn’t trust him.”


Reflecting on their first term, Shaibu noted that they dismantled their political structure to support Obaseki, believing in Oshiomhole’s vision for the state, but the situation changed significantly during the second term.


He added, “We broke down our structure and gave him everything. The second term was a completely different scenario; it was a time of godfatherism in Edo State.”

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
