 Hardship: Bricklayer absconds as wife gives birth to triplets in Ondo A bricklayer identified as Bayo Jeje has allegedly absconded from home after his wife gave birth to a set of triplets at a private hospital in Igbokoda in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State. Jeje was said to have disappeared after some midwives and nurses at the hospital told him his wife, Iyanu Ehuwa Jeje, gave birth to three baby boys. The incident took place on Tuesday, causing confusion inside the facility of the Aribo Hospital in Ilaje as the health workers raised the alarm about the whereabouts of  Jeje. Sources at the hospital told Daily Trust that the man left his wife and the newborns stranded in the hospital. One of the sources said Mrs Jeje’s ordeal began around 5 am at Igbokoda Health Centre, where she experienced a prolonged delay due to the unavailability of a doctor on duty. “It was after her condition worsened that she was rushed to Aribo Hospital, where she delivered the triplets. “B...

Abia Task Force Cracks Down on Dirty Shops and Road Obstructions


In a bid to maintain a clean and healthy environment, the Abia State Harmonized Taskforce (ASHTF) sealed several shops in Aba over the weekend for failing to clean their drainages. The task force, in collaboration with the Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA), also impounded commercial vehicles that were causing road obstructions.¹


According to Miracle Chukwunenye, Media Officer of ASHTF, the affected shops were found to have dirty drainages and failed to meet sanitation standards. The task force's enforcement of environmental sanitation compliance is aimed at achieving a clean and green Abia.


The operations took place in several areas, including St. Michael's Road, Asa Road, and Ama Awusa.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
