Failure to comply, the union warned, would result in a statewide media blackout. ABIA GOVT TO ENFORCE COMMERCIAL VEHICLE REGISTRATION.(PHOTO).

  The Abia State Government has announced plans to strictly enforce the registration of commercial vehicles operating within the state. This decision was made known by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, during a briefing with journalists on the outcome of the executive council meeting. According to Prince Kanu, the registration of commercial vehicles is still ongoing, and those yet to comply are encouraged to do so. The state government has been working to sanitize the transport sector, and this initiative is part of those efforts. In addition to the enforcement of commercial vehicle registration, the state government has also completed five road projects under the direct Labour initiative. A NORTH CAROLINA MAN DROVE A STOLEN TRUCK TO STEAL A FORKLIFT.(PHOTOS).

 Criminal of the week-  A North Carolina man drove a stolen truck to steal a forklift. He made a bold getaway using the stolen forklift to carry the stolen truck. Deputies in Rowan County, North Carolina responded to an unusual call on Sunday, March 30th. Deputies were called to Karriker Farm Road to the report of a stolen forklift. Witnesses told deputies that a man (later identified as Richard Webb) had arrived to the property in a Ford Ranger. They said Webb exited the vehicle and proceeded to steal the fork lift. Amazingly, while making his getaway in the forklift, Mr. Webb scooped up the Ford Ranger and beat a hasty retreat with both vehicles. The Ford Ranger was later determined to have also been stolen by Webb. Authorities eventually caught up with Webb driving the forklift down Cooper Road approximately 8 miles from where the theft occurred. At the time Webb was pulled over, he had a passenger with him.  Milam county, Texas- A high school baseball player and his parents lose their lives in an awful car crash on the way to his game, leaving behind a lone grieving daughter. 43-year-old Clint, and 39-year-old Meghan McCaffety were traveling in a Ford Sedan with their 16-year-old son Connor at 4:40 p.m. on Monday, March 31st.  The family were on their way to one of Connor's baseball games. The trio were traveling on Highway 36 . The family stopped their vehicle at a construction zone  in the west bound lane when a Kia SUV pulled up and stopped behind them. As the two vehicles waited for the light to change, an 18 wheeler came barreling in behind the vehicles and slammed into both cars.  The collision caused the Kia to roll into the ditch and the 45-year-old woman who was operating the Kia was rushed to the hospital.  The extent of her injuries are unknown at this time.  Clint, Meghan and Conner were all pronounced deceased on scene.  The family of a disabled Plano, Texas student are alleging she was abused by a Plano independent school district teacher. The terrible actions taken by the teacher are absolutely appalling.  Saniyah Nelson is a senior at Plano high-school.  Saniyah was diagnosed with the rare genetic disorder GRIN syndrome, this syndrome has left Saniyah completely disabled. As a result Saniyah needs personal care with everything from feeding to diaper changes. Saniyah's mother, Lestia, said she started noticing things that concerned her when Saniyah would arrive home from school. She shared, "Saniyah would come home with bloody diaper rashes and the school had also changed her to a liquid diet without informing the family." This caused Saniyah to lose 10 to 15 lbs!  3 siblings charged after an 18-year-old Cedar Rapids, Iowa man was found tied to a bed and deceased from starvation.  Police in Cedar Rapids were called to the report of a deceased individual on November 9th, 2024. When authorities arrived on the scene they discovered 18-year-old Ezekiel Baseme, deceased.   According to family members, Ezekiel was suffering from a severe mental break a few days earlier. The family claimed Ezekiel had not been eating or sleeping. They said "he had been acting aggressively towards them and they were worried he might harm someone else or himself, so two of his brothers were forced to tie him down to a mattress". The brothers said they kept watch over him and when they offered him food or water he would become aggressive again. The brothers claimed at some point while checking on Ezekiel they realized he was stiff and cold to the touch. The incident occurred during a powerful windstorm that preceded an evening downpour, leaving many in shock. The collapse happened while youths of the church were holding a meeting inside the cathedral. Despite the terrifying incident, all attendees managed to escape unharmed, except for one person who sustained minor injuries. Guinea, a bauxite and iron ore-producer, is one of several West African countries where the military has taken power and stalled a return to civilian rule.  Family seeks help as kidnapper abducts five-year-old daughter in Lagos The family of Memunah Abdulrahman is appealing to the public for assistance after their five-year-old daughter was abducted by a suspected kidnapper in the Ejigbo area of the state. PUNCH Metro learnt on Tuesday that the missing girl was abducted on March 9, 2025, while she and her sister were returning from an Islamic school. According to sources, upon reaching a popular supermarket in the community, the suspect approached Abdulrahman and her sister and led them inside the store. While pretending to buy them some items at the supermarket, PUNCH Metro gathered that the suspect disappeared with Memunah, leaving her sister behind.
