Head of murdered Hong Kong model Abby Choi discovered in a soup pot
Abby Choi's head was stolen and was found in a soup pot on Sunday, as four people were accused in connection with her horrific murder.
The Times of London stated that according to Hong Kong authorities, only the skull was left after boiling Choi's severed head.
The upcoming model, who had appeared in Elle, Vogue, and Harper's Bazaar, vanished on Tuesday.
According to local station TVB, the ex-husband of the model, Alex Kwong, was charged with the murder of the model's father and brother on Sunday.
In the tragic case, Choi's former mother-in-law was charged with obstruction.
Bail was declined for all four.
Authorities are still looking for the rising fashion star's body pieces in the adjacent sewers.
Police discovered two female legs in a refrigerator and two cooking pans with human tissue three days after Choi—who most recently graced the digital cover of L'Officiel Monaco—went missing.
A meat slicer and an electric saw were also discovered there.
According to an autopsy report, Choi suffered from a significant skull fracture behind her right ear that may have been brought on by a hard object.
According to Police Superintendent Alan Chung, "when we found the two pots of soup at the site, one of the pots measuring 50cm [20 inches] deep and 40cm [16 inches] in diameter, was almost full and covered with thick fat, some green radishes and carrots, and meat suspected to be human flesh."
The body and arms of Choi have not been found, and the local authorities worry that they may have been thrown away.
Authorities described the murder as "premeditated" and "well-planned," and they suspect the men accused of the crime killed Choi because she was about to sell a luxurious home in Ho Man Tin's Kadoorie Hill district.
Choi paid for the property's acquisition but registered the land in her ex-name husband's to avoid paying stamp duty. There are rumors that her ex-family husband's has been residing there.
Police think that when Choi's ex brother-in-law promised to drive her to pick up her kid from school, he actually gave her a blow to the head in the car before bringing her to the Tai Po flat where she was butchered.
In order to avoid being smeared with blood from dismembering the body, the suspects "covered the walls of the flat with a sail, and they put on face shields and raincoats," according to Chung.
On May 8, the four accused members of the family will be back in court.
