 PRESS RELEASE  FG Commends  Diaspora Healthcare Professionals' Medical Missions to Nigeria  The Federal Government has commended efforts by diaspora based Nigerian healthcare professionals to improve healthcare in Nigeria, emphasizing it's crucial support to enhance its sustainability.  *ANAMBRA SECURITY:  GUNSHOT IN UKWULU WAS AS A RESULT OF DISAGREEMENT AMONG SIBLINGS: POLICE CONTAINS THE SITUATION, RESCUES VICTIM, ARRESTS TWO SUSPECTS  AND RECOVERS ONE AK47 RIFLE, ONE PISTOL AND SIX ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION.*


In the evening of 12th April 2025, Police Operatives attached to the Special Anti-Cultism Squad Enugu-Ukwu responded swiftly at the scene of a shooting incident in Ukwulu and prevented the situation from escalating further.  The Operatives rescued a victim with a gunshot injury, recovered one AK47 rifle, one pistol, and six (6) rounds of live  ammunition. Two suspects were also arrested at the scene.


Meanwhile, the suspects are already undergoing, Police interrogations while the victim was taken to the hospital and is responding to medical treatment.


Preliminary investigations revealed that both the victim and the armed suspect who sought the assistance of another, are brothers and have been having a serious misunderstanding. 


The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a comprehensive investigation. Further details shall be communicated in due course.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
