Stakeholders Demand Completion of Jos Inland Dry Port After 19-Year Delay
Stakeholders in the North Central region have renewed calls for the completion of the Jos Inland Container Depot (JICD), 19 years after its inauguration.
At a forum in Jos, industry players decried the project's stalled progress—now less than 40% complete—despite a N2.2 billion state buyout in 2021. They cited job losses, poor agricultural exports, and the absence of rail connectivity as major setbacks.
The Nigerian Shippers Council assured that the federal and state governments are collaborating to secure capable investors, while Plateau officials pledged support to revive the long-delayed project.
