 A 29-year-old Nigerian man, Chukwuebuka Eweni is in custody after he stabbed his 75-year-old father, Samuel Eweni to death and injured his two sisters in New Orleans, Louisiana, US. Family members confirmed to WWL Louisiana that the deceased was was a computer sciences professor at Southern University at New Orleans. Relatives say Eweni and his two daughters were stabbed on Tuesday night, November 11, 2025.  One of the victims was released from the hospital, the other is still being treated as of Wednesday afternoon and is expected to survive.  Family members say Eweni has long suffered from mental illness but has never been violent.  They described Tuesday evening as an ordinary night at their home on Pebble Drive before Eweni grabbed a knife.  They say they don’t know what set him off.   After the stabbing, family members say they found out Eweni went to New Orleans East Hospital, where he would routinely check himself in for mental help.  With...

Four dead after wooden boat carrying migrants capsizes off San Diego  A wooden boat believed to be carrying migrants toward the U.S. capsized in rough waters near San Diego, leaving at least four dead and four hospitalized, authorities said Saturday. The U.S. Border Patrol discovered the vessel in the surf off Imperial Beach late Friday night. Six people were found on the beach just before midnight, one of whom was pronounced dead, while another was rescued after being trapped under the boat. About two hours later, a report came in of someone in the water near Imperial Beach Pier. A Coast Guard crew responded and found three more people deceased in the ocean. The search for any additional passengers is ongoing. Several survivors identified as Mexican, while others remain unidentified. NFL Hall of Famer Kenny Easley dies at 66 Kenny Easley, the legendary safety for the Seattle Seahawks, has passed away at the age of 66, the team confirmed Saturday. The Seahawks honored him for his "leadership, intensity, and fearlessness," sending condolences to his wife and three children. The cause of death has not been disclosed. Easley, known as “The Enforcer,” was the fourth overall pick in the 1981 NFL Draft out of UCLA. Over seven seasons with Seattle, he recorded 32 interceptions, including a career-high 10 in 1984, when he also earned Defensive Player of the Year honors. A five-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro, Easley played a key role during the 1987 NFL strike as a labor representative for the team. His career was cut short in 1988 due to idiopathic nephrotic syndrome, a serious kidney disease. Easley was inducted into the Seahawks Ring of Honor in 2002 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017.

Authorities said the 22-year-old blocked traffic on Washington Avenue around 3:12 a.m. while filming content, creating a “dangerous situation.” Police say Doherty refused orders to leave the roadway, reportedly shouting, “once I’m done with this bet,” before being taken into custody. He faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and resisting an officer without violence. Arrest records indicate he was found with amphetamine.  Actor James Pickens Jr. reveals prostate cancer diagnosis  James Pickens Jr., known for his long-running role as Dr. Richard Webber on “Grey’s Anatomy,” announced that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. The 73-year-old actor said the cancer was detected early thanks to routine screenings, a practice he began at age 41 due to his family history. “It’s not the kind of news anyone wants to hear, but prostate cancer has run through my family,” Pickens said. “My father had it. He had a lot of brothers; several of them had it.  Man survives after being shot in the back by dog SHILLINGTON, PENNSYLVANIA - A 53-year-old man in Shillington, Pennsylvania, is expected to survive after being shot in the lower back by one of his dogs, police said. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11. Authorities said the man was cleaning his shotgun when one of his dogs jumped onto the bed, causing the gun to discharge. It remains unclear whether the dog’s paw accidentally triggered the weapon, if the safety was off, or if a malfunction occurred. The man was found conscious on the floor when first responders arrived. He was the only adult in the room at the time, though his son was home and two dogs were present. The man was rushed to the hospital for surgery, and while his current condition is not fully known, police say he is expected to survive.  Tornado devastates Portugal campsite, killing one and injuring several ALBUFEIRA, PORTUGAL - A tornado tore through a campsite in Albufeira, Portugal, killing an 85-year-old British woman and injuring several others, authorities said. The storm, described by officials as a “mesocyclone tornado,” left structures destroyed and debris scattered across the affected area. The twister was caught on video by a local resident who happened to be on a nearby rooftop as it struck. Dozens of people were reported injured in the chaos. Portugal’s meteorological agency had issued an orange alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms in the area shortly before the tornado hit. While tornadoes are far less common in Europe than in the U.S., they do occur, with France ranking fifth in Europe for tornado frequency according to a 2017 study in the American Meteorological Society journal. The study also noted that few European meteorological offices maintain comprehensive tornado databases.

National Executive Council (NEC) of the NYCN made the announcement via a statement made available to journalists on Saturday. According to the statement, the appointment was made in accordance with the provisions of the NYCN Constitution (2018, amended 2025), with the NEC appointing Comrade Okoye as the Acting Chairman of the Anambra State Chapter. Speaking during a special town hall meeting on the draft budget in Kaduna on Friday, the governor said the initiative was informed by citizens’ complaints and feedback gathered during last year’s town hall engagements, where communities highlighted major developmental gaps, especially in rural areas. Sani revealed that by 2024, it became evident that 12 out of the state’s 23 local government areas had not received even a kilometre of road construction in 12 years.  National convention: ‘I’m not part of it’ – Gov Fintiri rejects Wike’s suspension from PDP Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has dissociated himself from the position of expelling the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Minister, Nyesom Wike, from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. The PDP expelled Wike, and a former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, from the party, for anti-party activities. The party also expelled the National Secretary of the party, Samuel Anyanwu, and eight others. The party took the decision at the national convention currently taking place in Ibadan, Oyo State. DAILY POST reports that the party unanimously voted to expel them for anti-party activities and fostering disunity with series of litigation against the interests of the party.  Nevada- An 11-year-old boy was fatally shot on his way to school in a road rage incident. According to local authorities, the incident occurred at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, November 14th. Reports indicate that the situation began when one driver attempted to pass another on the shoulder of the road.  This led to a verbal altercation that quickly spiralled out of control when 22-year-old Tyler Johns (pictured below) pulled out a firearm. Johns fired a single shot at the other vehicle. Unfortunately, that single shot struck an 11-year-old boy who was simply being driven to school by his stepfather. At this point, the stepfather rammed Johns vehicle, causing it to stall on the freeway. After the vehicle stalled, the stepfather and Tyler Johns both exited their vehicles, and a heated exchange occurred despite the fact that an 11-year-old boy was fighting for his life.
